"Motor's Too Fast" is a single from Australian rock musician James Reyne. It was included on the international and Australian 1988 re-release of his debut self titled solo studio album. James Reyne
James Michael Nugent Reyne OAM (born 19 May 1957) is an Australian rock musician and singer-songwriter both in solo work and, until 1986, with the band Australian Crawl. Biography Early years Reyne was born in Lagos, Nigeria. His father, Rodney Michael Reyne, was an English-born former Royal Marine, who served as aide-de-camp to the Governor of the state of Victoria, Sir Dallas Brooks, and subsequently worked for British Petroleum. His paternal grandfather, Cecil Nugent Reyne, was an English rear admiral. His mother, Judith Graham, née Leask, was a teacher. His younger brother, David Reyne, was also born in Nigeria. The family moved to Victoria in late 1959, where a younger sister Elisabeth was born. His career, both as a solo performer and as the lead vocalist with the rock band Cold Chisel, has made him one of the most popular and best-selling Australian music artists of all time. Chantoozies
The Chantoozies are an Australian pop group, formed in 1986. The group featured four female vocalists: Eve von Bibra, Angie La Bozzetta, Ally Fowler and Tottie Goldsmith, and four male musicians: Brett Goldsmith (bass guitars, keyboards, programming), Scott Griffiths (keyboards, programming), Frank McCoy (guitars, vocals) and David Reyne (drums, backing vocals). Their name is an intentional mispronunciation of the French word for a female singer, "chanteuse". Chantoozies first single, "Witch Queen", was released on Mushroom Records in January 1987 and peaked at number 4 on the Australian singles chart. The group went on to sell 300,000 records, achieving Gold and Platinum status throughout the 80s and 90s in Australia. ''Barnestorming'' or ''Barnestorming Live'' is the first live album by Australian hard rocker, Jimmy Barnes, the former lead vocalist for Cold Chisel. It was released in November 1988 and went to number one on the Australian albums chart for three weeks later that month. Barnes and his backing band were recorded at their Melbourne performances from December 1987 to February 1988. ''James Reyne'' is the debut studio album by Australian singer-songwriter James Reyne, released in September 1987. It was the singer's first solo venture since the break-up of the band Australian Crawl in 1986. Six singles were released from the album: "Fall of Rome", " Hammerhead", " Rip it Up", "Heaven on a Stick", "Motor's Too Fast" and "Always The Way". The album was re-released on vinyl in January 2017 to celebrate its 30th anniversary. The Third Australian Recording Industry Association Music Awards (generally known as the ARIA Music Awards or simply The ARIAS) was held on 6 March 1989 at the Darling Harbour Convention Centre in Sydney. The ARIA Music Award for Best Male Artist, is an award presented at the annual ARIA Music Awards, which recognises "the many achievements of Aussie artists across all music genres", since 1987. It is handed out by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA), an organisation whose aim is "to advance the interests of the Australian record industry." The award is given to an Australian male artist who has had a single or an album appear in the ARIA Top 100 Singles Chart between the eligibility period, and is voted for by a judging academy, which comprises 1000 members from different areas of the music industry. The award for Best Male Artist was first presented to John Farnham in 1987.
