Chantoozies
The Chantoozies are an Australian pop group, formed in 1986. The group featured four female vocalists: Eve von Bibra, Angie La Bozzetta, Ally Fowler and Tottie Goldsmith, and four male musicians: Brett Goldsmith (bass guitars, keyboards, programming), Scott Griffiths (keyboards, programming), Frank McCoy (guitars, vocals) and David Reyne (drums, backing vocals). Their name is an intentional mispronunciation of the French word for a female singer, "chanteuse". Chantoozies first single, "Witch Queen", was released on Mushroom Records in January 1987 and peaked at number 4 on the Australian singles chart. The group went on to sell 300,000 records, achieving Gold and Platinum status throughout the 80s and 90s in Australia. In early 2014, the Chantoozies released their first single in 23 years, called "Baby It's You". It was produced by Pseudo Echo frontman Brian Canham. Tottie Goldsmith
Caroline "Tottie" Goldsmith (born 27 August 1962) is an Australian actress and singer. Career Television In the early 1980s, Goldsmith acted in the Australian television series ''The Young Doctors'', ''Starting Out'', ''Prisoner'', ''Saturdee'', and '' The Henderson Kids ''. She made a guest appearance on an 1989 episode of '' Mission: Impossible'', which was filmed in Australia. In the 1990s Goldsmith hosted ''Sex/Life'', a Network Ten program about sexual health, and starred in the drama series ''Fire''. Ally Fowler
Alexandra "Ally" Fowler (born 6 December 1961) is an Australian actress and singer. She is known for her roles as Angela Hamilton in '' Sons and Daughters'' (1982–84) and Zoe Davis in ''Neighbours'' (1986); both series were produced by the Grundy Organisation, and in 1985, she was cast in another Grundy serial, ''Possession'', just before that series was cancelled. As a singer, Fowler is known as one of the four female vocalists of the band Chantoozies (1986–91), which had top 10 hits with a cover version of " Witch Queen" in 1987 and an original track, "Wanna Be Up" in 1988. Their debut self-titled album peaked at No. 8 on the ARIA Albums Chart in September 1988. Eve Von Bibra
Eve Sarah von Bibra (born 27 June 1966) is an Australian singer-songwriter and actress. From 1986 to 1991, she was a member of the pop group, Chantoozies, as one of four female lead vocalists. She co-wrote their hit, "Wanna Be Up", which peaked in the top 10 on the ARIA Singles Chart in July 1988. Von Bibra acted in the 2006 movie ''Kenny'', playing Jackie – a flight attendant and the title character's love interest. Brett Hugh Goldsmith (born 4 June 1961) is an Australian-born songwriter, music programmer/producer and photographer. Personal life Goldsmith is the son of British-born actress Rona Newton-John (1941–2013) and Melbourne nightclub owner Brian Goldsmith. His grandfather was University of Melbourne professor Brinley ("Bryn") Newton-John. His great-grandfather was German-Jewish physicist and Nobel Prize winner Max Born. David Reyne
David Nicholas Reyne (born 14 May 1959) is an Australians, Australian actor, musician, television and radio presenter. Reyne was born in Lagos, Nigeria to an Australian mother and English diplomat father. The family moved to Victoria (Australia), Victoria, Australia in the early 1960s. Reyne lives in Mount Eliza, Victoria. He was educated at The Peninsula School, Mount Eliza. Australian Crawl
Australian Crawl (often called Aussie Crawl or The Crawl by fans) were an Australian rock band founded by James Reyne (lead vocals/piano/harmonica), Brad Robinson (rhythm guitar), Paul Williams (bass), Simon Binks (lead guitar) and David Reyne (drums) in Melbourne in 1978. David Reyne soon left and was replaced by Bill McDonough (drums, percussion). They were later joined by his brother Guy McDonough (vocals, rhythm guitar). The band was named after the front crawl swimming style also known as the Australian crawl. Australian Crawl were associated with surf music and sponsored a surfing competition in 1984. However, they also handled broader social issues such as shallow materialism, alcoholism, car accidents, and cautionary tales of romance. ''All Saints'' is an Australian medical drama television series that first screened on the Seven Network on 24 February 1998.
