Moti Almoz
Mordechai (Moti) Almoz ( he, מוטי אלמוז; born 1967) is a major general ("Aluf") in the Israel Defense Forces who has been serving as the IDF Spokesperson since 2013. He previously served as commander of the Combat Engineering Corps and head of the Israeli Civil Administration. Biography Almoz was born and raised on moshav Migdal. In 1985 he joined the IDF Engineering Corps, becoming an officer. In 1998 he was appointed commander of Battalion 605. In 2002 he was appointed an officer of the Southern Command. In 2004 Almoz served as the Jordan Valley Brigade Commander during Operation Bringing Home the Goods. In 2007 he was promoted to brigadier general and appointed head of the Central Command headquarters. In November 2010, Almoz was appointed head of the Civil Administration in the West Bank. Migdal, Israel
Migdal ( he, מִגְדָּל, ''lit.'' Tower) is a town in the Northern District of Israel. It was founded in 1910, and granted local council status in 1949. In it had a population of . Migdal is located near Ginosar, and about 8 km north of Tiberias. It has a shoreline on the Sea of Galilee, including the Tamar, Ilanot and Arbel beaches. History Migdal is named after a city from the Second Temple period called "Magdala". The ancient city is believed to have been located on the site of the depopulated village of al-Majdal, which preserved the name. In 1908, a small group of German Catholics who identified the site as the birthplace of Mary Magdalene settled there. Yoav (Poli) Mordechai ( he, יואב מרדכי; born March 25, 1964, in Jerusalem) is a retired major general in the Israel Defense Forces. He concluded his 36-year career in the IDF in 2018 as the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories. Mordechai was recruited to the IDF in 1982 and served as a soldier and an officer in the 51st Battalion of the Golani Brigade. Then he served in the Research Department in the Intelligence Directorate, and in an operational unit in the branch.
