Moshe Meiselman
Moshe Meiselman is an American-born Orthodox Judaism, Orthodox rabbi and rosh yeshiva (dean) of Yeshiva Toras Moshe in Jerusalem, which he established in 1982. He also founded and served as principal of Yeshiva University of Los Angeles (YULA) from 1977 to 1982. He is a descendant of the Lithuanian Jews, Lithuanian Jewish Brisk yeshivas, Soloveitchik rabbinic dynasty. Early life and education Meiselman was born to Harry Meiselman, a Dentist, dental surgeon, and Shulamit Soloveitchik, a teacher and Jewish school principal who attended New York University and Radcliffe College. On his father’s side, he is a descendent of the Hasidic Rebbe Rav Baruch of Kossov. On his mother's side, he is a descendant of the Soloveitchik rabbinic dynasty. Yeshiva Toras Moshe
Yeshiva Toras Moshe is an English-speaking Litvish Orthodox Yeshiva in Jerusalem. Founded in 1982, it was established in Israel to cater to post-high school students from English-speaking countries. It has since graduated over 1,000 students. History The yeshiva was founded in 1982 by Rabbi Moshe Meiselman, a grandson of Rabbi Moshe Soloveichik and nephew and student of Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik, together with Rabbi Doniel Lehrfield, now Rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Bais Yisroel. Meiselman named the yeshiva after his grandfather Rabbi Moshe Soloveichik (1879–1941). The yeshiva was first housed in Machon Harry Fischel in the Bucharian neighborhood of Jerusalem. In the early 1990s the Yeshiva moved to the center of Jerusalem in a building founded by the Dean of Yeshivas Novhardok, Rabbi Ben-Zion Brook. Chaim Soloveitchik
Chaim (Halevi) Soloveitchik (Yiddish: חיים סאָלאָווייטשיק, pl, Chaim Sołowiejczyk), also known as Reb Chaim Brisker (1853 – 30 July 1918), was a rabbi and Talmudic scholar credited as the founder of the popular Brisker approach to Talmudic study within Judaism. Ahron Soloveichik
Ahron (Aaron) Soloveichik ( he, אהרן סולובייצ'יק; May 1, 1917 – October 4, 2001) was a renowned Orthodox ''rosh yeshiva'', and scholar of Talmud and ''halakha''. Biography The youngest of five children, Rabbi Ahron Soloveichik was born to Moshe Soloveichik in Khislavichi, Russia, at which time his father was the rabbi of that town. Joseph Soloveitchik and Samuel Soloveichik were his older brothers. His family first moved to Poland in 1920. Before his father moved to New York in 1929, Moshe engaged his student Yitzchak Hutner to become Soloveichik's rebbe. Soloveichik was Hutner's first student. Soloveichik celebrated his bar mitzvah in Warsaw, and then immigrated with his family to join his father in the United States in 1930.
