Moscow City Symphony Orchestra
The Moscow City Symphony was established in 2000 by the Moscow City Government. It is resident orchestra at the Moscow International House of Music. The orchestra was directed by Alexander Vedernikov until 2004, then Maxim Fedotov Maxim Viktorovich Fedotov (born 24 July 1961) is a Russian violinist and conductor, People's Artist of Russia, son of the conductor Viktor Fedotov. Moscow International House Of Music
The Moscow International Performing Arts Centre was officially opened on September 28, 2003 with the debut of a new orchestra, the National Philharmonic of Russia under musical director Vladimir Spivakov. Also known as the Moscow International House of Music (''Dom Muzyki''), it is situated on the Kosmodamianskaya Embankment off the Garden Ring Road. The architects were Yury Gnedovsky, Vladilen Krasilnikov, Dmitry Solopov, Margarita Gavrilova, and Sergey Gnedovsky of Krasniye Kholmy Russian Cultural-business Centre and Tovarishestvo Teatralniy Arkhitekturov. Alexander Vedernikov
Alexander Alexandrovich Vedernikov (; 11 January 1964 – 29 October 2020) was a Russian conductor. He held major posts with the Bolshoi Theatre the Odense Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Danish Opera, and the Mikhailovsky Theatre. Biography Born in Moscow, Vedernikov was the son of the bass Alexander Filipovich Vedernikov, who sang at the Bolshoi Theatre, and of Natalia Nikolaevna Gureeva, who was a professor of organ at the Moscow Conservatory. He grew up with two siblings in a small apartment. Vedernikov graduated from the Moscow Conservatory in 1988, where he studied with Leonid Nikolaev and also took classes from Mark Ermler. He worked as a conductor in the Stanislavski and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre from 1988 to 1990. He was also an assistant conductor to Vladimir Fedoseyev at the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra of Moscow Radio from 1988 to 1995. Maxim Fedotov
Maxim Viktorovich Fedotov (born 24 July 1961) is a Russian violinist and conductor, People's Artist of Russia, son of the conductor Viktor Fedotov. Fedotov studied at the Special Music School in Leningrad and then at the Moscow Conservatory. As well as his career as a soloist, he has also been chief conductor of the Russian Symphony Orchestra (2003–2005), artistic director and chief conductor of the Moscow City Symphony Orchestra – Russian Philharmonic Orchestra from 2006 until December 2010, professor of the Moscow Conservatory since 1987, and professor and head of Department of Violin and Viola of the Gnessin-Academia of Music from 2003 until 2008. He is believed to be the first person since Paganini himself to give a recital on both the violins belonging to Paganini, one a Guarneri, the other a Vuillaume (in Saint Petersburg in 2003). Dmitri Jurowski
Dmitri Jurowski (born 6 November 1979) is a German conductor and the grandson of composer Vladimir Michailovich Jurowski. Early life and education Jurowski was born in Moscow, into a Jewish family with several generations of musicians. At the age of six he began learning cello at the Moscow Conservatory and then moved with his family to Berlin, where he attended the Musikgymnasium Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach. He continued his cello studies at the Rostock University of Music and Theatre, and in April 2003 began attending conducting lessons at the Academy of Music Hanns Eisler Berlin. Soon afterwards, he became an assistant conductor for a production of Prokofiev's ''Boris Godunov'' which he conducted along with his father, Mikhail Jurowski, for the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra.
