Mortuary (1983 Malayalam Film)
''Mortuary'' is a 1983 Indian Malayalam film, directed by Baby and produced by K. Pushparajan. The film stars Prem Nazir, Madhu, Shankar Panikkar and Balan K. Nair in the lead roles. The film has musical score by K. J. Joy. The film was remade in Tamil as ''Amma Pillai'' (1990). ''Mortuary'' is based upon a real incident which happened in the Kottayam Medical College in the year 1977. There was a bet between two medical students to nab a cigarette from a dead body kept in a mortuary at 12 o'clock midnight. When the student came to take the cigarette, the dead body swallowed the cigarette and the student was killed due to the shock. The real culprit was the other student who was present in the mortuary lying in between the dead bodies. Police arrested the other student responsible for the death. Cast *Madhu as Adv. Prem Nazir
Prem Nazir (born Abdul Khader; 7 April 1926 – 16 January 1989) was an Indian actor known as one of Malayalam cinema's definitive leading man, leading men of his generation. He is widely regarded as one of the most influential actors in the history of Cinema of India, Indian cinema. A popular cultural icon of Kerala, Nazir is often referred to as ''Nithyaharitha Nayakan'' ("Evergreen Hero"). Poovachal Khader (25 December 1948 – 22 June 2021) was a Malayalam lyricist from Kerala who worked mainly in Malayalam film industry. His first movie as a lyricist was ''Kaattuvithachavan'' (1973) but his first released movie was ''Chuzhi'' (1973). Biography Khader was born on Christmas day in 1948, in a village named Poovachal in the present-day Thiruvananthapuram district. His original name is Muhammed Abdul Khader. His parents are Aboobacker Pillai and Rabiyathul Adabiya Beevi. Chuzhi released in 1973 under the musical direction of M. S. Anuradha (actress)
Anuradha (born Sulochana Devi) is an Indian film and television actress. She was mainly active in the 1980s and 1990s. She was known for her item numbers. K. N. Jagannatha Varma (1 May 1939 – 20 December 2016) was an Indian actor who worked in Malayalam film and television industry. He was also a Kathakali artist. His son Manu Varma is also an artist and his son-in-law Viji Thampi is a film director. Madhu (actor)
Madhavan Nair, commonly known by his stage name Madhu, is an Indian actor, director, producer, former college lecturer and former film studio owner, who works in Malayalam cinema and a certain number of Hindi and Tamil films.
