Morling College
Morling College is a Baptist college in Macquarie Park, New South Wales. It is affiliated with the Australian Baptist Ministries. It is an approved teaching institution of the Australian College of Theology and a registered teaching institution of the University of Divinity, and is a member of the South Pacific Association of Bible Colleges. The principal is the Revd Ross Clifford AM. History The college was established in 1916 as ''Baptist Theological College of New South Wales''. It moved to its present location in 1961. Ross Clifford
Ross Richard Clifford AM (born 1951) is an Australian Baptist theologian, political commentator, radio personality and author. A former lawyer who later joined the ministry, Clifford became a campaigner on moral issues while a suburban Sydney pastor in the 1980s. He has served as head of several religious organisations and as an occasional media spokesperson. He unsuccessfully ran for a seat in the New South Wales Legislative Council in 2003 for the Christian Democratic Party. Until mid-2010 he had a radio program on Sydney station 2CH. Michael Frost (minister)
Michael Frost (born 1961) is an Australian Baptist minister, missiologist and theologian who is one of the leading voices in the missional church movement. Frost is the founding Director of the Tinsley Institute, a mission study centre located at Morling College in Sydney, Australia. Career Frost is the author or editor of a number of theological books, including ''The Shaping of Things to Come'' (2003), ''Exiles'' (2006), ''The Road to Missional'' (2011) and ''Surprise the World'' (2016). Mark Tronson
Mark Tronson (1951 - July 2022) is an Australian Baptist pastor who established a nationwide sports and leisure ministry known as Specialised Life-Orientated Ministries (SLM), popularly known amongst Australian churches as Sports & Leisure Ministries. Education and career Tronson was trained in theology at Morling Baptist Theological College in Sydney, 1977-1980. Following pastorates at Croydon Park and Warragamba (1979–1983), he served as a part-time industrial chaplain until 1992. Graham Hill (theologian)
Graham Joseph Hill (born 8 July 1969) is an Australian theologian who is a former associate professor of the University of Divinity. He is the State Leader of Baptist Mission Australia (Western Australia). Hill's research focuses on World Christianity but he is also known for his work on biblical egalitarianism and women theologians of global Christianity. He has published in the areas of missiology, applied theology, and global and ecumenical approaches to missional ecclesiology. Missiology is the academic study of the Christian mission history and methodology, which began to be developed as an academic discipline in the 19th century. Morling College - Perth Vose Campus is a Baptist college located in Bentley, Western Australia. The college is associated with the Baptist Union of Western Australia (Australian Baptist Ministries) History In 1957, the Baptist Churches in Western Australia, under the leadership of Noel Vose, prepared plans for the establishment of the seminary. Opening in March 1963, with Vose as founding Principal, the seminary began classes as the Baptist Theological College of Western Australia in temporary accommodation in Nedlands. Australian Baptist Ministries (formerly Baptist Union of Australia) is the oldest and largest national cooperative body of Baptists in Australia. The Baptist Union of Australia was inaugurated on 24 August 1926 at the Burton Street Church in Sydney. It is affiliated with the Baptist World Alliance. George Morling
George Henry Morling (21 Nov 1891 – 8 April 1974) was an Australian Baptist minister who was Principal of the NSW Baptist College (which was later named in his honour) from 1921 to 1960. Morling also served as President General of the Baptist Union of Australia from 1962 to 1964. Early life and education Morling was born in Sydney on 21 November 1891, the third child of Annie Hillman and Charles A. Morling. His father had been refused entry to Charles Spurgeon's Pastor's College because he was " consumptive" and come to Australia to recover. Morling was baptised and joined Ashfield Baptist Church at age 17, before attending Sydney University where he graduated with a BA in 1913.
