Morazha is a village of Anthoor Municipality in Kannur district in the Indian state of Kerala. Before formation of Anthoor Municipality this village was part of Thaliparamba Municipality. Though part of a Municipal Town, Morazha remains like a village. The landscape of Morazha village comprises paddy fields and hilltop areas. This village have five major portions viz. Morazha Central, Vellikkeel, Panneri, Kanool and Punnakkulangara. While being part of a Municipal Town, the people of this village solely depends the towns in Cherukunnu and Kannapuram for their routine needs. Most of the people are employed at said towns. Punnakkulangara is a significant part as well as a Municipal Ward of Anthoor Municipality in Kannur district of Kerala, India. Location and Local Governance Punnakkulangara is a village in North Malabar. It is situated in Anthoor Municipality of Kannur district. Punnakkulangara comes under the Morazha village. Anthoor
Anthoor is a municipality in the Kannur district of the North Malabar region in the Indian state of Kerala. Anthoor is located roughly 15 km from the Kannur City, and 7 km from Taliparamba town. Geography Almost half of Anthoor's border is surrounded by two scenic rivers, the Valapattanam Puzha and the Kuttikkol Puzha. The backwaters at Vellikkeel Eco Tourism Park are a tourist spot. Anthoor shares borders with Taliparamba and Kurumathur to the north, Kalliasseri and Pappinisseri to the south, Kannapuram to the west, and Mayyil, Kolachery, and Narath to the east. Thaliparamba
Taliparamba (also known as Perinchelloor and Lakshmipuram) is a Municipality in Taliparamba taluk of Kannur district, Kerala, India. The municipal town spreads over an area of and is inhabited by 44,247 number of people. Etymology The town's name may be derived from "Tali" (plate) and "Parambu" (area or ground), and from the legend of Rajarajeshwara Temple. According to this legend, the Ikshvaku King Maandhatha offered great penance to Shiva who in return gifted him with a Shiva Linga and instructed him to place it at a site where there had never been a cremation ground. The Quit India Movement, also known as the August Kranti Movement, was a movement launched at the Bombay session of the All India Congress Committee by Mahatma Gandhi on 8th August 1942, during World War II, demanding an end to British rule in India. After the failure of the Cripps Mission to secure Indian support for the British war effort, Gandhi made a call to ''Do or Die'' in his Quit India movement delivered in Bombay on 8 August 1942 at the Gowalia Tank Maidan. The All India Congress Committee launched a mass protest demanding what Gandhi called "An Orderly British Withdrawal" from India. Even though it was at war, the British were prepared to act.
