Moonlit Sailor
Moonlit Sailor is a post-rock band from Borås, Sweden, formed in 2006. The group consisted of Joakim Wiik (keyboards/guitar), Oscar Gullbrandsen (guitar), Adam Törnblad (drums/guitar/piano), and Markus Rundlöf (bass). In 2008 the band released their debut EP ''A Footprint of Feelings'' through the independent record label Deep Elm Records. The following year they released a full-length album, ''So Close to Life,'' and in 2010 they embarked on a small European tour that included stops in Germany, Austria, the United Kingdom, and Finland. The band released a second album in 2011, ''Colors in Stereo'', also through Deep Elm Records. On May 8, 2017, Törnblad died at the age of 27. Borås
Borås ( , , ) is a city (officially, a locality) and the seat of Borås Municipality, Västra Götaland County, Sweden. It had 66,273 inhabitants in 2010. Geography Borås is located at the point of two crossing railways, among them the railway between Gothenburg and Kalmar, and is often considered the Swedish city gaining the most from the nationwide railway system laid between 1870 and 1910. History The city of Borås received its privileges in 1621 by King Gustav II Adolf. Deep Elm Records is an independent record label releasing albums by bands such as Lights & Motion, The Appleseed Cast, Brandtson, The White Octave, and Planes Mistaken for Stars. It also released the compilation series ''The Emo Diaries''. History Deep Elm Records started in New York City by John Szuch. Deep Elm's first release was the single "Anthemic Tune" by Curdlefur in 1995. Its first album was by Camber in March 1997. In 2006, Deep Elm Records signed its first UK act, Free Diamonds. By 2008, Deep Elm stopped pressing physical CDs and vinyl, effectively becoming a digital only label. Post-rock
Post-rock is a form of experimental rock characterized by a focus on exploring textures and timbre over traditional rock song structures, chords, or riffs. Post-rock artists are often instrumental, typically combining rock instrumentation with electronics. The genre emerged within the indie and underground music scene of the 1980s and early 1990s.
