Montmorency (Montreal Metro)
Montmorency station is a Montreal Metro station in Laval, Quebec, Canada. It is operated by the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) and serves the Orange Line. It is located in the Laval-des-Rapides. The station is part of an extension to Laval and opened on April 28, 2007, becoming the northern terminus of the Orange Line. After two years of opening, the Metro had generated an extra 60,000 daily passengers, around twice as originally estimated. Overview It is a normal side platform station. This station has the highest ceilings of any station in the network. The wall panels are decorated with tiling in diagonal stripes of retro shades of cyan, navy, straw yellow and brick red. The station is equipped with the MétroVision information screens which displays news, commercials, and the waiting time until the arrival of the next train. Sainte-Rose, Quebec
Sainte-Rose is a district in Laval, Quebec. It was incorporated as a village in 1850, and was a separate town until the municipal mergers on August 6, 1965 which amalgamated all the municipalities on Île Jésus into a single City of Laval. Ste-Rose is best known for the parish church, erected 1740, which contains a Casavant Frères organ and hosts numerous concerts every year, and for "Vieux Ste-Rose", an area known for its old houses and its restaurants. Sainte-Dorothée is a district in Laval, Quebec. It was a separate city until the municipal mergers on August 6, 1965. The Sainte-Dorothée that was known for forest and farmlands is no longer what it used to be. It took a giant transformation during the last decade with the arrival of SmartCentre (formerly Mega Centre) Sainte-Dorothée and Mega Centre Notre-Dame. It began with the construction of Canadian Tire, IGA & followed with the first Wal-Mart Canada in the western Laval area. The expansion has never stopped since. It now has almost every major department store, restaurant, hundreds of boutiques and two locations open 24 hours. Laval-Ouest is a district in Laval, Quebec. It was a separate city until the municipal mergers on August 6, 1965. Geography Laval-Ouest is delimited north and north-west by the Rivière des Mille-Îles, south-west by Laval-sur-le-Lac, east by Fabreville and south by Sainte-Dorothée. Also known as Plage Laval. Vimont station is a commuter rail station operated by Exo in Laval, Quebec, Canada. It is served by the Saint-Jérôme line. The station is in ARTM fare zone B, and currently has 200 parking spaces. De la Concorde station is an intermodal transit station in Laval, Quebec, Canada. It serves the Montreal Metro's Orange Line and connects to Exo's Saint-Jérôme commuter rail line. It is located in the Laval-des-Rapides district and opened April 28, 2007, as part of Montreal Metro's extension into Laval. Description The station is named after boulevard de la Concorde, which in turn is named for the Place de la Concorde in Paris. Chomedey, Quebec
Chomedey is a district in the southwest of the city of Laval and was a separate municipality until the municipal mergers in 1965. History On April 1, 1961, the towns of and and the city of Saint-Martin were merged, giving birth to the city of Chomedey. Chomedey's city hall became the city hall for all of Laval. The merger project was first launched by the administration of the city of L'Abord à Plouffe. On August 10, 1960, it passed a resolution expressing its desire to merge the three municipalities and the city of Laval-des-Rapides, under the name "Cité de Laval".
