Mongolian Social Democratic Party
The Mongolian Social Democratic Party ( mn, Монголын Социал Демократ Нам, , sometimes also referred to as ''Sotsdek nam'') is a political party in Mongolia. It was founded in 1990 by Bat-Erdeniin Batbayar. Other prominent members included A.Ganbaatar, Losolyn Byambajargal and Radnaasümbereliin Gonchigdorj. A considerable number of members came from the mathematics and physics departments of Mongolia's National University. The party was part of the Mongolian Democratic Union that ruled from 1996 to 2000. 2012 Mongolian Legislative Election
Legislative elections were held in Mongolia on 28 June 2012 to elect 76 members of the State Great Khural. Also held during the parliamentary elections was the Ulaanbaatar city council election, the first time both have been held at the same time. For the first time, the election used vote counting machines by new legislative election laws to make the election fair. Electoral system A new legislative election law introduced the status of domestic election observers who are nominated by civil society organisations. Parties had to announce 48 candidates for constituency seats and 28 candidates for proportional allocation. Among the changes was also a quota of 20% of seats reserved for women. Radnaasümbereliin Gonchigdorj ( mn, Раднаасүмбэрэлийн Гончигдорж; born 1953) is Mongolian politician from the Mongolian Social Democratic Party and he has served twice as the Chairman of the legislature of Mongolia from 1990 to 1992 and from 1996 to 2000.
