"Money City Maniacs" is a song by Canadian rock band Sloan. It was released as the lead single from the band's 1998 album, '' Navy Blues''. In a 2000 poll conducted by the music magazine ''Chart'', the song was voted the 12th greatest Canadian song of all time. Between 1995 and 2016, "Money City Maniacs" was the eighth most played song by a Canadian artist on rock radio stations in Canada. Description The song begins with a repeated siren, followed with a bassline and series of power chords which form the basis of the introduction and verses. The song's chorus describes a practical joke wherein a friend's body is covered in Coke fizz. The bassline of the song bears a resemblance to AC/DC's " Live Wire". The similarity is noted by Patrick Pentland in an interview with ''Chart'' magazine. Sloan is a Canadian rock music, rock band based in Toronto and originally from Halifax Regional Municipality, Halifax, Nova Scotia. Sloan have released thirteen full-length albums and have received nine Juno Award nominations, winning one. The publication was founded by Walt Grealis in February 1964, supported through its existence by record label owner Stan Klees. ''RPM'' ceased publication in November 2000. ''RPM'' stood for "Records, Promotion, Music". The magazine's title varied over the years, including ''RPM Weekly'' and ''RPM Magazine''. The Halifax Mooseheads are a Canadian major junior ice hockey club in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. The team was founded in 1994 and began play in the Dilio Division of the QMJHL from the 1994–95 season. Future Shop was a Canadian electronics store chain. It was established in 1982 by Hassan Khosrowshahi. By 1990, the chain had become the country's largest retailer of computer and consumer electronics. In January 2013, the company operated 139 locations across Canada.
