Mondo Music Corporation is a record label in Lusaka that produces recordings by some of Zambia's the most popular musicians, including Amayenge, Danny, K'Millian, Exile, JK, Shatel, Nathan Nyirenda, Jojo Mwangaza, Lilly T. ribal Cousin Ackson Chulu, Sydney Kasonde The company was started in 1998 by Chisha Folotiya, its first release being a gospel album by the Omega Singers. The company's motto is "The Nation's Music Leaders", which they try to live up to by offering releases for all age groups and demographics. Amayenge
Amayenge is a popular Zambian music group. Started by Chris Chali in 1978 in Choma, the band was originally called Crossbones, one of many Zambian acts that had sprung up to do gigs based on rock. Later the band became known as the New Crossbones, after a change in direction, sponsorship and management. The musical style of the group is called kalindula, a distinctive Zambian popular style with traditional African roots. Chali died 30 May 2003, but the band has continued with Fraser Chilembo as their leader. Amayenge has received worldwide attention from WOMAD in London to Asia and the Americas. Jordan Katembula
Jordan Katembula (born 1978) known professionally as JK, is a Zambian singer, songwriter and record producer. He is regarded as one of the pioneers of Zambian music and the R&B genre in Zambia. Early life Born in 1978 in Ndola, Zambia, He attended his junior school at Chilengwa Basic School in Ndola and he completed his secondary education at Lubuto Secondary School.
