Molveno
Molveno is a ''comune'' (municipality) in Trentino in the northern Italian region of Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, located about northwest of Trento. It is famous for its positioning on Lake Molveno as a holiday destination, its nearby ski resorts (Andalo-Paganella) and its connection to the National Park Adamello Brenta. Geography Molveno is located at the northern end of a long lake ('' Lago di Molveno''), at the foot of the Brenta Group and the Paganella mountain. The Lake of Molveno, formed by a landslide about 4000 years ago, is the second largest in Trentino-Alto Adige, . It has a maximum depth of . It's famous for its diverse fish species, including trout, arctic char and perch. Lake Molveno
Lake Molveno (german: Malfeinsee) is a lake in Trentino, Italy. The only settlement is Molveno, located at the north end of the basin. The lake marks the boundary between the Group of the Brenta Dolomites (Campanile Basso, Croz dell'Altissimo, Sfulmini, Cima Tosa) to the west and the Paganella - Mount Gazza to the south east). In 1952, the lake was drained to allow the construction of collectors and conduits to feed the power plant of S. Massenza. On this occasion a petrified forest submerged at the time of the lake's formation was found on the bed of the lake. The analysis with radiocarbon carried out in the laboratory of nuclear geology of the University of Pisa has established that the formation of Lake Molveno dates back to the early Iron Age. Paganella
Paganella is a mountain of the Brenta Group in Trentino, northern Italy. It is located in the territories of the ''comuni'' of Fai della Paganella, Andalo, Molveno, Zambana and Terlago. Overlooking Trento from north-west, it consists of a short range/plateau with a highest elevation of 2,125 m (Roda Peak).
