Molvedo
Molvedo, (1958–1987) was an Italian Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. The leading Italian two-year-old of 1960, he missed the first half of the following season through injury but returned to win his remaining four races, establishing himself as the top racehorse in Europe and one of the best horses ever trained in Italy. The highlight of his career came in France's most prestigious and valuable race, the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe in October, in which he defeated a strong international field. He was retired to stud at the end of 1961 and had some success as a breeding stallion. Background Molvedo was a brown horse standing 1.68 metres bred near Varese in Italy by the Razza Ticino. Ribot (horse)
Ribot (27 February 1952 – 28 April 1972) was a Great Britain, British-bred, Italy, Italian-trained Thoroughbred racehorse who won all his 16 races, including the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, Arc de Triomphe twice. He raced from 5 furlongs (1,000m) to 1m 7f (3,000m) in three countries on all types of track conditions. He is considered by many experts to be one of the best horses ever. He was the best Italian two-year-old of 1954, when his three wins included the Gran Criterium. He won his first four races of 1955 in Italy before being sent to France where he won the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. In the following year he was even better, recording wide-margin victories in both the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes and the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. The Grand Prix de Deauville is a Group 2 flat horse race in France open to thoroughbreds aged three years or older. It is run at Deauville over a distance of 2,500 metres (about 1 mile and 4½ furlongs), and it is scheduled to take place each year in August. The Gran Criterium is a Group 2 flat horse race in Italy open to two-year-old thoroughbred colts and fillies. It is run at Milan over a distance of 1,500 metres (about 1 mile), and it is scheduled to take place each year in October. The event held Group 2 status for a period in the 1970s. Right Royal
Right Royal (1958–1973) was a French Thoroughbred race horse and sire. He was the best two-year-old in France in 1960 when his wins included the Grand Critérium. He was the dominant three-year-old of his generation in Europe in the spring and summer of 1961, winning the Poule d'Essai des Poulains, Prix du Jockey Club and the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes. Odds provide a measure of the likelihood of a particular outcome. They are calculated as the ratio of the number of events that produce that outcome to the number that do not. Pearl hunting, also known as pearling, is the activity of recovering pearls from wild molluscs, usually oysters or mussels, in the sea or freshwater. Pearl hunting was prevalent in the Persian Gulf region and Japan for thousands of years.
