Moinul Ahsan Saber
Moinul Ahsan Saber (born 26 May 1958) is a Bangladeshi fiction writer. He is the executive editor of weekly magazine Saptahik 2000, published from Dhaka. He also heads ''Dibya Prokash'', a progressive publishing house in Bangladesh. He was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1996. For his contribution to Bengali language and literature, the Bangladesh government awarded him the Ekushey Padak, the country's second highest civilian honor in 2019. Early life and career Saber's father, Ahsan Habib, was a poet. Saber emerged as a writer and got breakthrough with the publication of his first novel ''Porasto Sahish'' in 1982. Ahsan Habib (poet)
Ahsan Habib (2 January 1917 – 10 July 1985) was a Bangladeshi poet and literary figure in Bengali culture. He was born in the village of Shankarpasha, in Pirojpur. Before the India-Pakistan partition, he worked on several literary magazines: ''Takbir'', ''Bulbul'' (1937–38) and ''The Saogat'' (1939-43) and he was a staff artiste at the Kolkata Centre of All India Radio. After partition he came to Dhaka and worked on ''Daily Azad'', ''Monthly Mohammadi'', ''Daily Krishak'', ''Daily Ittehad'', ''Weekly Prabaha'', etc. Early life He was born in Pirojpur district. His father's name is Hamijuddin Hawladar and his mother's name is Jomila Khatun. He had been writing poem since his school life. Shaptahik 2000
''Shaptahik 2000'' was a Bengali-language magazine that was published weekly from 1998 to 2014. The magazine was published by Mediaworld Ltd, a concern of Transcom Group of Bangladesh. History ''Shaptahik 2000'' was established in 1998. Its founding editor was Shahadat Chowdhury. The publisher of the magazine was Mahfuz Anam, the editor of ''The Daily Star''. On 12 March 2005, Shumi Khan, the Chittagong correspondent of the magazine, received threats from Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh. This threat was issued after Shumi wrote an article that accused Shahjahan Chowdhury, a Member of Parliament from Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh, of supporting terrorism. The Bangla Academy Literary Award ( bn, বাংলা একাডেমি সাহিত্য পুরস্কার; ''Bangla Academy Shahitya Puroshkar''), is given by the Bangla Academy of Bangladesh in recognition of creative genius in advancement and overall contribution in the field of Bengali language and literature. It was introduced in 1960 and recognized six categories: poetry, novels, short stories, essays, children's literature and translation. ''The Independent'' was an English-language daily newspaper published in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It was owned by Beximco Group of Bangladesh. The last executive editor of the newspaper was Shamim Abdullah Zahedy. History On 26 March 1995, Beximco Group launched The Independent. In October 2010, the Independent newspaper was relaunched. Bangladesh Television ( bn, বাংলাদেশ টেলিভিশন), commonly known by its acronym BTV ( bn, বিটিভি), is the state-owned television network of Bangladesh. The network was originally established as the East Pakistan branch of PTV in 1964.
