Mohit Raina
Mohit Raina (born 14 August 1982) is an Indian actor who appears in Hindi films and television. He started his acting career with a science fiction show ''Antariksh'' (2004) and later went on to play a role in ''Don Muthu Swami'' (2008). He is best known for the lead role of the Hindu god Shiva in the television series ''Devon Ke Dev – Mahadev'' and ''Mahabharat'', prior to which he had acted in television soap operas including '' Chehra'' (2009) and ''Ganga Kii Dheej'' (2010). Early life and background Mohit Raina was born into a Kashmiri Brahmin family on 14 August 1982 to P.L. Raina and Sushma Kumara and raised in Jammu. Battle Of Saragarhi
The Battle of Saragarhi was a last-stand battle fought before the Tirah Campaign between the British Raj and Afghan tribesmen. On 12 September 1897, an estimated 12,00024,000 Orakzai and Afridi tribesmen were seen near Gogra, at Samana Suk, and around Saragarhi, cutting off Fort Gulistan from Fort Lockhart. The Afghans attacked the outpost of Saragarhi where thousands of them swarmed and surrounded the fort, preparing to assault it. Led by Havildar Ishar Singh, the 21 soldiers in the fort—all of whom were Jat Sikhs—refused to surrender and were wiped out in a last stand. The post was recaptured two days later by another British Indian contingent. All of the 21 soldiers involved in the battle were posthumously awarded the Indian Order of Merit, which was the highest gallantry award that an Indian soldier could receive at the time. Havildar Ishar Singh
Ishar Singh (1858 – 12 September 1897), was an Indian-Sikh Havildar and war hero of the 36th Sikhs. He was known leading the regiment on a last stand against the 10-12,000 strong Pashtun tribesmen with only 20 other men at the Battle of Saragarhi. After sustaining enough resistance, Singh was fighting alone but refused to surrender and fought to the death along with the rest. Early military career He was born in 1858 at Jagraon, Punjab into the agrarian family of Sardar Dulla Singh, hailing from Ludhiana. Singh had an aspiration for becoming a soldier and when he turned 18, he joined the Punjab Frontier Force.
