Mohan (actor)
Mohan (born 23 August 1956) is an Indian actor, known for his works predominantly in Tamil cinema, and a few Kannada, Telugu and Malayalam films. He is also known as "Kokila Mohan" after his debut film '' Kokila'' (1977), and "Mic Mohan" from numerous roles playing singers using microphones. In 1982, he received the Filmfare Award for Best Tamil Actor for his work in ''Payanangal Mudivathillai''. Career Mohan was introduced to the world of theatre by B. V. Karanth, who spotted him at a restaurant. Mohan's first stage play was praised by critics from places like Delhi. Mohan was introduced to the cinema industry through Kannada film industry by Balu Mahendra in his movie '' Kokila'' in 1977 alongside Tamil actor Kamal Haasan. ''Kokila'' was a hit and Mohan was catapulted into the limelight; since release of ''Moodu Pani'' in 1980 he became one of the biggest stars of the Tamil cinema industry. Mulabagilu is a town and taluk headquarters of Mulabagilu taluk in the Kolar district in the state of Karnataka, India. It lies just off the National Highway 75 as the easternmost town of the state and a hill landmark. Etymology "Mulabagilu" (ಮುಳಬಾಗಿಲು) comes from the word ''mudalabagilu,'' which means the "eastern door" in the native Kannada language. J. Alexander (25 July 1939 – 2 April 2019), known professionally as Mahendran, was an Indian film director, screenwriter and actor, known for his work in the Tamil film industry. Mahendran is regarded as one of the greatest film makers of Tamil cinema and has influenced several filmmakers of the generations that followed.
