Mohammedan SC (Dhaka)
Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited Dhaka, founded in 1936 at Dhaka, is one of the oldest and one of the most popular football clubs in Bangladesh, with a support base in all parts of the country. The club currently plays in the Bangladesh Premier League. History The clubs journey began in Hazaribagh. Members of the famed Nawab family of Dhaka wanted to establish a local club for the youth. As a result, Muslim Sports Club came into being in 1927. Nine years later, with Khwaja M. Ajmal as its president, it was renamed Mohammedan Sporting Club, after its more renowned predecessor the Kolkata Mohammedan. Though it was established to create enthusiasm for sports amongst the local Muslim community, the club later broke the race, class and ethnic barrier and became a crowd favorite. Comilla Stadium
Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium ( bn, শহীদ ধীরেন্দ্রনাথ দত্ত স্টেডিয়াম ), also known as Comilla Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium located in Comilla, Bangladesh. It is the current home venue of Dhaka Mohammedan and Chittagong Abahani Limited in Bangladesh Premier League Football. It is also occasionally used for cricket. Super Cup is the highest-budgeted football competition organized by the Bangladesh Football Federation and is one of the two club football season cups in Bangladesh, the other being Federation Cup. It started in 2009. The tournament is currently sponsored by Grameenphone. Federation Cup, also known as Bangladesh Federation Cup, is Bangladesh's premier cup competition in men's association football. The competition started in 1980 and is run by the Bangladesh Football Federation which is responsible for all types of competitive matches in the country. The teams from the country's premier league and other clubs compete in the tournament while occasionally Indian sides were invited in the past. The Dhaka Derby is a football rivalry between the Dhaka teams of Abahani and Mohammedan, although the rivalry was bigger in the past, it is still considered to be the biggest game in the country's domestic football scene. Zakaria Pintoo
Zakaria Pintoo (born 1 January 1943) is a Bangladeshi retired professional footballer who played as a defender. Career Pintoo played for the Pakistan football team before independence. He served as the captain of Shadhin Bangla Football Team in 1971 and went on to become the first captain of the Bangladesh national football team after the independence of the country. He received the Independence Day Award (1995) in the sports category by the Government of Bangladesh. During tour with the Shadhin Bangla Football Team in India, in 1971, he became the first person to hoist the Bangladesh flag in foreign land. Mohun Bagan Athletic Club is an Indian professional sports club based in Kolkata, West Bengal. Founded in 1889, its football section is one of the oldest in India and Asia.
