Mohammad Ali Jinnah Road
Muhammad Ali Jinnah Road (), frequently abbreviated as MA Jinnah Road, is a major thoroughfare in central Karachi, Pakistan. The road was originally named Bandar Road ( ;''"Port Road"''), owing to the fact that it linked the city to the Port of Karachi, but was later renamed in honour of Pakistan's founder, Muhammad Ali Jinnah. MA Jinnah Road stretches 6.1 kilometres from Jinnah Bridge in the south, near the Port of Karachi, to Gurumandir Chowk, north of Mazar-e-Quaid. It is one of the city's oldest roads, and passes through much of the colonial era historic core of Karachi, with numerous landmarks along its route. History During Talpur rule, the ''Rah-i-Bandar'' road was built to connect the city's port to the caravan terminals in what is now the Serai Quarter. Jinnah Bridge ( ur, ) is a circular flyover located between Kharadar and Kiamari on Chinna Creek in Karachi, Pakistan. Until 1982, the bridge was known as Napier Mole Bridge. Denso Hall (), officially The Max Denso Hall and Library, is a library located in Karachi, Pakistan. It was built in 1886 as the first library in Karachi to serve the native population. The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Building is a colonial-era building located on M. A. Jinnah Road, in central Karachi. Construction began in 1927, completed in 1930, and the building was then inaugurated in 1932. It is considered to be one of the most architecturally significant buildings in Karachi. History A foundation stone for a new municipal office was first laid at the site in 1895. Groundwork for the new building was completed in 1915, but the remainder of construction did not begin until 1927. Construction was completed in 1930, and the building was inaugurated in 1932, as the Karachi Municipal Building. The total cost of the building was Rs.1,775,000. The building's Silver Jubilee Clock, a clock tower with a Moorish-style dome, was added in 1935 to commemorate King George V's visit to the region. Nanak Wara ( ur, نانک واڑہ), originally laid out as the Jail Quarter, is a neighbourhood in central Karachi, Pakistan. NJV Government Higher Secondary School
The Narayan Jagannath Vaidya Government Higher Secondary School at Karachi is the first government school established in Sindh. It was opened in October 1855 with 68 boys. The original buildings were replaced by the present ones in 1876. It was named after the visionary Narayan Jagannath Vaidya after his death. Khaliq Dina Hall ( ur, ), also spelled Khaliq Deena Hall, is a library and hall located in Karachi, Pakistan. The building was built in 1906, and was after Ghulam Hoosain Khalikdina - a wealthy merchant and philanthropist who was the main financier for the building, and who wished for Karachi's Muslims to have a space for literary pursuits. It currently has a hall which is used for various events, a library, and a room that serves as the office of a local NGO. The Shri Swami Narayan Mandir, Karachi ( ur, ) is a Hindu temple that is the only Swami Narayan temple in Pakistan. The temple is notable for its size and frontage, over on the M. A.
