Mohamed Ali (born 13 July 1992) is an Indian professional Association football, footballer who plays as a Defender (association football)#Centre-back, defender for Dempo SC, Dempo in the I-League 2. Ali has won promotion from the I-League 2nd Division twice in two consecutive seasons with both Dempo SC, Dempo and NEROCA FC, NEROCA, respectively. Career Early life Ali was born in Caranzalem, Goa, and raised in poverty by his single mother, Dilshad Bi Ali. As a child, Ali grew an affinity towards football and would play whenever he could. His brother, Niyazuddin, saw Ali's ability to play football as unnerving and wanted Mohamed to focus on studies, rather than football. The principal at his school, Don Bosco, and his physical education teacher, Francis Raposo, however, encouraged Ali to play and develop his game. Caranzalem
Caranzalem (pronaunced Caranzale the alphabet m is silent) is a neighborhood located on the west side of the city of Panaji, capital of the Indian state of Goa. It is completely located on the island of Tiswadi, one of the talukas in the state of Goa. It is known for its beach with same name. The I-League (known as Hero I-League for sponsorship ties with Hero MotoCorp) is the second-tier men's professional football competition of the Indian football league system. It is currently contested by 12 clubs across the country with the winners getting promotion to play in the premier division, the Indian Super League. The Indian Super League (ISL) is an Indian professional league for men's association football clubs. At the top of the Indian football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. Organised by the All India Football Federation (AIFF), and their commercial partners Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL), it is officially known as Hero Indian Super League for sponsorship ties with Hero MotoCorp. The 2017–18 Indian Super League season was the fourth season of the Indian Super League, one of the top Indian professional football leagues. It was established in 2013. The regular season started on 17 November 2017 and ended on 4 March 2018, The finals began on 7 March 2018, concluding with the final on 17 March 2018. ATK were the defending champions from the 2016 season, however they could not advance to the playoffs. Chennaiyin won their second Indian Super League title by defeating Bengaluru 3–2 in the final. 2017–18 ISL Players Draft
The 2017–18 ISL Players Draft was a players draft conducted by the Indian Super League on 23 July 2017. Format Regulations for the 2017–18 Indian Super League season allow for each club to have a minimum of 15 Indian players and a maximum of 18, which include two mandatory under-21 players. Prior to the draft, each club was allowed to retain a maximum of two senior players from the previous season (2016–17 I-League for Bengaluru FC) as well as retaining up to three under-21 players. The draft had a total of 15 rounds. New expansion side, Jamshedpur FC, had the first pick in both the first and second rounds.
