Moelv
Moelv is a town in Ringsaker Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The town is located along the shores of the lake Mjøsa, about south of the town of Lillehammer and about the same distance northwest of the town of Hamar. Moelv is the second largest urban area in Ringsaker municipality (after Brumunddal). The town has a population (2021) of 4,465 and a population density of . Situated at the shores of lake Mjøsa at the mouth of the Moelva river, the town is bordered by green, forested hills farmland. The town consists of a few shopping centers, the Moelv Station along the Dovrebanen railway line, and some pubs and restaurants. The main employer is Moelven Industrier, a manufacturer of specialty building materials. Archaeological excavations have found traces of human habitation in the area back to the Norwegian Stone Age. Moelv Station ( no, Moelv stasjon) is a railway station located in Moelv in Ringsaker, Norway on the Dovre Line. Mjøsa Bridge
The Mjøsa Bridge ( no, Mjøsbrua) is a box girder bridge that crosses Lake Mjøsa in Innlandet county, Norway. The east side of the bridge begins in the town of Moelv in Ringsaker Municipality and the village of Biri in Gjøvik Municipality. The bridge is long, the longest span is , and the clearance to the water below is . The bridge has 21 spans and one vehicular lane in each direction. The Mjøsa Bridge was opened in 1985. The government is currently planning to replace the bridge with a new four-lane bridge over the lake as part of an expansion of the E6 highway around Moelv. Work (or construction) on the (new, wooden) bridge has been paused as of Q3 2022, as a consequence of the 2022 collapse of the Tretten Bridge in Norway. European Route E6
European route E6 ( no, Europavei 6, sv, Europaväg 6, or simply E6) is the main north-south thoroughfare through Norway as well as the west coast of Sweden. It is long and runs from the southern tip of Sweden at Trelleborg, into Norway and through almost all of the country north to the Arctic Circle and Nordkapp. The route ends in Kirkenes close to the Russian border. Mjøsa
Mjøsa is Norway's largest lake, as well as one of the deepest lakes in Norway and in Europe. It is the fourth-deepest lake in Norway. It is located in the southern part of Norway, about north of the city of Oslo. Its main tributary is the river Gudbrandsdalslågen flowing in from the north; the only distributary is the river Vorma in the south. Inflows would theoretically need 5.6 years to fill the lake.
