Modibo Keïta
Modibo Keïta (4 June 1915 – 16 May 1977) was the first President of Mali (1960–1968) and the Prime Minister of the Mali Federation. He espoused a form of African socialism. Youth Keïta was born in Bamako-Coura, a neighborhood of Bamako, which was at the time the capital of French Sudan. His family were Malian Muslims who claimed direct descent from the Keita dynasty, the founders of the medieval Mali Empire. His nickname after primary schooling was Modo. He was educated in Bamako and at the école normale William-Ponty in Dakar, where he was top of his class. Beginning in 1936, he worked as a teacher in Bamako, Sikasso and Tombouctou. He married Mariam Travélé, who was also a teacher, in September 1939. Entering politics Modibo Keïta was involved in various associations. In 1937, he was the coordinator of the art and theater group. Along with Ouezzin Coulibaly, he helped found the Union of French West African Teachers. Keïta joined the Communist Study Groups ...

Modibo Keita (31 July 1942 – 2 January 2021) was a Malian politician who was Prime Minister of Mali from 18 March 2002 to 8 June 2002 and from 9 January 2015 to 9 April 2017. As Prime Minister for less than three months in 2002, he was the final prime minister appointed by President Alpha Oumar Konaré. Modibo Maïga
Modibo Maïga (born 3 September 1987) is a Malian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Al-Jeel and the Mali national team. He has also played for Stade Malien, Raja Casablanca, Le Mans, Sochaux, West Ham United, Queens Park Rangers and Metz. A full international for Mali since 2007, he was part of their squads at the four Africa Cup of Nations tournaments, helping them to third place in the 2012 and 2013 editions. Club career Raja Casablanca Born in Bamako, Maïga began his career with Stade Malien in his home country aged 15 in 2003, later moving to Moroccan club Raja CA Casablanca where he spent his late teenage years, winning several competitions, including the Arab Champions League and the Moroccan League. Le Mans Maïga made a move to French Ligue 1 side Le Mans aged 20 in 2007. Playing alongside Gervinho and Stéphane Sessègnon, Maïga established himself in French football.
