Modibo Adama
Adama ɓii Ardo Hassana (1786 – 1847), more commonly known as Modibbo Adama (''Modibbo'' meaning "learned man"), was a Fulani scholar from the Yillaga (Yirlaɓe) clan. He led a jihad into the region of Fombina (in modern-day Cameroon and Nigeria) and established the emirate of Fombina, also known as Adamawa. Modibbo Adama received a flag from Shehu Usman dan Fodio to lead a jihad in ''Fombina'' ('southlands') during the Sokoto revolution. Fombina later became one of the largest and most complex emirates in Usman's Sokoto Caliphate. It spanned about forty thousand square miles that covered parts of northeastern Nigeria, entire northern Cameroon and parts of Central African Republic. Modibo Diakité (born 2 March 1987) is a French professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Italian Eccellenza club LUISS Roma. Club career Pescara Born in Bourg-la-Reine, Diakité moved to Italy at early age, and joined Sampdoria's youth setup. In 2004, he moved to Pescara, being initially assigned to the ''Primavera'' team. Diakité made his first-team debut on 28 May 2006, in a 0–0 away draw against Mantova for the Serie B championship. Modibo Keïta
Modibo Keïta (4 June 1915 – 16 May 1977) was a Malian politician who served as the first President of Mali from 1960 to 1968. He espoused a form of African socialism. He was deposed in a coup d'état in 1968 by Moussa Traoré. Born and raised in Bamako, Keïta began a career as a teacher in 1936 under French colonial rule before entering politics during the 1940s. In 1945, he co-founded the Sudanese Union (US) with Mamadou Konaté which became part of the African Democratic Rally (RDA) the following year to form the US-RDA. Being elected to several positions, his political prominence grew in the 1950s, and in 1959, he became Prime Minister of the Mali Federation, a short-lived federation of Mali and Senegal. Following the federation's collapse in 1960, Mali became an independent state, and Keïta became the new country's inaugural president. Modibo Keita (31 July 1942 – 2 January 2021) was a Malian politician who was Prime Minister of Mali from 18 March 2002 to 8 June 2002 and from 9 January 2015 to 9 April 2017. As Prime Minister for less than three months in 2002, he was the final prime minister appointed by President Alpha Oumar Konaré. Modibo Maïga (born 3 September 1987) is a Malian professional association football, footballer who plays as a Striker (association football), striker. Modibo Sagnan (born 14 April 1999) is a professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for club Montpellier. Born in France, he represented its Olympic team, before switching allegiance to the Mali national team.
