Villainy (band)
Villainy is an alternative rock band from Auckland, New Zealand. Formed in 2010 the band consists of James Dylan (bass guitar), Neill Fraser (vocals and guitar), Dave Johnston (drums and backing vocals) and Thom Watts (lead guitar). Villainy are three-time winners of the NZ Music Award for Best Rock Album/Artist and have shared the stage with numerous local and international acts including AC/DC, Incubus, The Offspring, The Used, Papa Roach, Billy Talent, and Seether. Band history Beginnings Villainy grew from the band Inverse Order, an alt-rock group featuring Villainy members Thom Watts, Neill Fraser, and James Dylan. After recruiting drummer Dave Johnston, the band took the name Villainy during recording of their debut album with producer Tom Larkin. The band released their debut single "Alligator Skin" online in May 2011. It was playlisted on radio station The Rock and reached number one in the Radioscope New Zealand Rock Charts. Storm Elvin Thorgerson (28 February 1944 – 18 April 2013) was an English graphic designer and music video director. He is best known for closely working with the group Pink Floyd through most of their career, and also created album or other art for Led Zeppelin, Phish, Black Sabbath, UFO, Peter Gabriel, the Alan Parsons Project, Genesis, Yes, Kansas, Dream Theater, Muse, Audioslave, the Mars Volta, The Cranberries, Helloween, Ween and Catherine Wheel. The 2013 New Zealand Music Awards is the 48th holding of the annual ceremony featuring awards for musical recording artists based in or originating from New Zealand. Tom Larkin (musician)
Tom Larkin (born 18 September 1971) is a founding member of the New Zealand band Shihad, band manager, and music producer. He grew up in Wellington, New Zealand but now lives in Melbourne in Australia. He is often mentioned as one of the greatest hard rock drummers that New Zealand has ever produced. Early life and family Larkin was born in Wellington, New Zealand to parents Thomas Cedric Larkin and Sarah Marianne Williams. As a kid, he often played the drums so loud in his parents big Kelburn house in Wellington, that the neighbours sometimes complained. While at school at Wellington High in the late 1980s he met Jon Toogood and together they former Shihad back in 1988.
