Mixed Doubles Prague Trophy
The WCT Mixed Doubles Prague Trophy is an annual mixed doubles curling tournament on the ISS Mixed Doubles World Curling Tour. It is held annually at the Curling Arena Prague in Prague, Czech Republic. The purse for the event is € 3,350 and its event categorization is 300 (highest calibre is 1000). The winning team wins € 1,450 with second place receiving € 900, third receiving € 600 and fourth earning € 400. As the event is run in April, it attracts many top international mixed doubles teams due to its proximity to the World Mixed Doubles Curling Championships which are held a few weeks after. Dean Hewitt
Dean Hewitt (born 9 November 1994) is an Australian curler from Melbourne. At the 2021 Olympic Curling Qualification Event in December 2021 Hewitt and his teammate Tahli Gill made history, when they won qualification to the mixed doubles tournament at the 2022 Winter Olympics. They are the first ever Australian curling team (in any curling discipline) to qualify for the Winter Olympics. Personal life Hewitt is from a curling family. His mother, Canadian-born Lynn Hewitt, played curling in Canada from her childhood. When she met Australian farmer Stephen (Steve) Hewitt, she married him and they moved to Australia, and her husband began curling too. Tahli Gill
Tahli Gill (born 8 September 1999) is an Australian curler who resides in Brisbane. She currently skips her own team and plays mixed doubles with partner Dean Hewitt. Career Gill started curling at age 11. Her mother Lynette is also a curler, as well as Tahli's sisters Kirby and Jayna. The four Gills sometimes play together, such as when they, along with Laurie Weeden, won the 2018 Australian Women's Championship. They then represented Australia at the 2018 Pacific-Asia Championship, where they finished in sixth place out of the seven teams. At the 2019 World Mixed Doubles Championship, Gill and her teammate Dean Hewitt made it to the semifinals before being eliminated by Sweden's Anna Hasselborg and Oskar Eriksson. Klaudius Harsch (born 23 January 2001) is a Germans, German curling, curler from Kempten, Germany. Career Harsch made his first appearance at the World Junior-B Curling Championships in 2018 World Junior B Curling Championships, 2018. There, his team of Sixten Totzek, Joshua Sutor, Jan-Luca Häg and Till Wunderlich won the bronze medal game, sending them to the 2018 World Junior Curling Championships. At the championship, the team just missed the playoffs with a 4–5 record after losing their final round robin draw to Canada's Tyler Tardi. Their fifth-place finish earned the team a spot at the 2019 World Junior Curling Championships without having to qualify through the B Championship. Emira Abbes (born 6 September 1996) is a German curler from Füssen. She currently skips the German National Women's Curling Team. She previously played third on the team led by Daniela Jentsch. Career Abbes was a member of the German team at the 2017 Winter Universiade, playing second on a team skipped by Maike Beer. The team finished in eighth. Abbes became the alternate on the German national women's team (skipped by Daniela Jentsch) in 2017. As the team's alternate, she played in the 2017 World Women's Curling Championship. The team was sitting at 5–4 with two games left. The Germans had a chance to qualify for the playoffs.
