Elie Mitri (born 26 January 1980) (Arabic; ايلي متري) is a Lebanese actor, writer and stand-up comedian. Film/TV A graduate of the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts in 2003, his career was launched in 2006 when he starred in Falafel, directed by Michel Kammoun. The film, which follows an overnight series of mishaps a young man lives through in Beirut, garnered a lot of attention internationally. In 2009 he took on the role of Saint Charbel in the biographical film Charbel: The Movie (2009), bringing insight and realism to the life of one of Lebanon's most beloved saints. Tarek Mitri ( ar, طارق متري; born 16 September 1950) is a Lebanese university professor, independent politician and former government minister. Early life and education Mitri was born on 16 September 1950. He has a PhD. in political science from the University of Paris X. Career Mitri served as a visiting professor in several international institutions. He has extensive experience promoting Christian-Muslim relations and has published on the subject. Mitri was environment and administrative development minister in 2005. He was minister of culture and foreign minister in the cabinet formed by Fouad Siniora in 2005. He was appointed information minister to the cabinet led by then prime minister Fouad Siniora on 11 July 2008 and the following government of Saad Hariri in 2009. Tiberio Mitri (12 July 1926 in Trieste – 12 February 2001 in Rome) was an Italian boxer who fought from 1946 to 1957. During his career, Mitri was the Italian and European middleweight champion. Mitri's professional debut, was 1 August 1946, and over the span of his first four years of fighting, racked up an undefeated record of 50–0. During this period, he won the Italian middleweight crown by defeating Giovanni Manca (1948), then added the European title with a points win over Cyrille Dellannoit of Belgium. He first defended the European honors, by decisioning Jean Stock of France. It was on the strength of this resume, Mitri won the right to challenge for the world middleweight championship...though, perversely, he landed the opportunity, as a substitute for Rocky Graziano.
