Beauty Pageant
A beauty pageant is a competition that has traditionally focused on judging and ranking the physical attributes of the contestants. Pageants have now evolved to include inner beauty, with criteria covering judging of personality, intelligence, talent, character, and charitable involvement, through private interviews with judges and answers to public on-stage questions. The term beauty pageant refers originally to the Big Four international beauty pageants. Pageant titles are subdivided into Miss, Mrs. or Ms., and Teen – to clearly identify the difference between pageant divisions. Hundreds and thousands of beauty contests are held annually, but the Big Four are considered the most prestigious, widely covered and broadcast by media. Mohnyin
Mohnyin ( my, မိုးညှင်း, ; Shan:မိူင်းယၢင်း) is a town in Kachin State, Myanmar. It is the administrative center for both Mohnyin Township and Mohnyin District and it has a population of 33,290. The Miss Universe Myanmar ( my, မယ်စကြဝဠာ မြန်မာ) is an annual national beauty pageant that selects Myanmar's representative to the annual Miss Universe contest. The reigning Miss Universe Myanmar is Zar Li Moe of Bhamo, who was crowned on October 1, 2022 at the Grand Ballroom, Novotel Hotel, in Yangon. Miss Burma (1947–1962)
Miss Burma was the national beauty pageant in Burma (now Myanmar) from 1947 to 1962. The winner of ''Miss Burma'' also represented her country at the Miss Universe. In 1962, the pageant was banned by the Union Revolutionary Council government because it was considered against Burmese culture. History The term Miss Burma was introduced in Myanmar through the MISS ORGANIZATION and held the Miss Burma 1959 Local Beauty Pageant Competition. Mr Gay World 2013, the 5th Mr Gay World competition, was held over 5 days in Antwerp, Belgium during the worldOutgames 2013, with the Grand Finale at Elckerlijc Theatre, Antwerp, Belgium on August 4, 2013. Khar Ra
Khar Ra ( my, ခါရာ, also spelt Kharra and Kha Ra; born Myo Htut Naing; 21 October 1993) is a Burmese actor, model and singer of ethnic Shan-Chinese descent. He gained popularity after starring in the 2018 film ''Dimensions'' which brought him wider recognition. Early life and education Khar Ra was born on 21 October 1993 in Mogok, Myanmar to ethnic Shan/Chinese-Burmese parent Myint Oo and his wife Nan Sein. He is the eldest son of three siblings, having a younger sister and younger brother. He attended high school at Basic Education High School No. 1 Mogok and graduated from Dagon University with a degree in English. Mawlamyine
Mawlamyine (also spelled Mawlamyaing; , ; th, เมาะลำเลิง ; mnw, မတ်မလီု, ), formerly Moulmein, is the fourth-largest city in Myanmar (Burma), ''World Gazetteer'' south east of Yangon and south of Thaton, at the mouth of Thanlwin (Salween) River. Hpakant
Hpakant ( my, ဖားကန့်, ; Shan Language: ၽႃၵၢၼ်ႉ, also Hpakan and Phakant) is a town in Hpakant Township, Kachin State of the northernmost part of Myanmar (Burma). It is located on the Uyu River 350 km north of Mandalay. It is famous for its jade mines which jade trade in Myanmar, produce the world's best quality jadeite. History The word Hpakant comes from the Shan language words for rock fall. Hpakant was first established in 1832 as a village but shortly afterwards the village was destroyed in a landslide. Mandalay
Mandalay ( or ; ) is the second-largest city in Myanmar, after Yangon. Located on the east bank of the Irrawaddy River, 631km (392 miles) (Road Distance) north of Yangon, the city has a population of 1,225,553 (2014 census).
