Miss Venezuela 1997 was the 44th edition of Miss Venezuela pageant was held in Caracas, Venezuela on 12 September 1997. The pageant was won by Veruska Ramírez of Táchira, who was crowned by outgoing queen Marena Bencomo of Carabobo. 29 delegates competed for the crown. Daniela Kosán
Daniela Kosán Montcourt (born 24 February 1974 in Maracay) is a Venezuelan model and television presenter. She was a contestant in the Miss Venezuela pageant in 1997 and a major favorite for the crown behind Cristina Dieckmann; Kosan placed third in the final contest after Dieckmann and Veruska Ramirez, the eventual winner. Thereafter she represented Venezuela in the ''Nuestra Belleza Internacional'' pageant where she finished as the winner. After that, she represented her country in Miss International 1998, narrowly missing the crown; her second-place finish was attributed to the reigning Miss International, Consuelo Adler, being a fellow Venezuelan. The next year, she was the weather girl in Venevisión news shows. In 2000, she worked as hostess for E! Latin America on Televen. She hosted the Venezuelan adaptation of American game show ''Pyramid'' called ''Contra reloj'' from 2001 to 2002. Apure (state)
Apure State ( es, Estado Apure, ) is one of the 23 states of Venezuela. Its territory formed part of the provinces of Mérida, Maracaibo, and Barinas, in accordance with successive territorial ordinations pronounced by the colonial authorities. In 1824 the Department of Apure was created, under jurisdiction of Barinas, which laid the foundations for the current entity. In 1856 it separated from Barinas and for the first time Apure appeared as an independent province, which in 1864 acquired the status of state. In 1881, however, a new territorial division combined Apure and Guayana to form a single state named ''Bolívar.'' In 1899 it reestablished its autonomy and finally, by means of the Constitution of 1909, gained its current borders. The territory was famous for heron plumes, which adorned European courts. Ciudad Guayana () (in English Guayana City) is a city in Bolívar State (Venezuela), Bolívar State, Venezuela. It stretches 40 kilometers along the south bank of the Orinoco, Orinoco river, at the point where it is joined by its main tributary, the Caroni River (Venezuela), Caroní river. Miranda State ( es, link=no, Estado Miranda, ) is one of the 23 States of Venezuela, states of Venezuela and the second most populous after Zulia State.
