Miss Puerto Rico Universe 2009
The 54th Annual Miss Puerto Rico#Miss Universe, Miss Puerto Rico Universe pageant was held at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum on October 22, 2008 in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico, Hato Rey section of San Juan, Puerto Rico. A record of 70 contestants competed for the crown, in which the competition was televised live by WAPA-TV. On October 11, 2008, the show entered its final stage when twelve finalists elected by the public remained. Ingrid Marie Rivera, Ingrid Rivera, who won the title of Miss Puerto Rico Universe 2008, crowned here successor Mayra Matos of Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, Cabo Rojo as Miss Puerto Rico Universe 2009, who then represented Puerto Rico at Miss Universe 2009 in Nassau, Bahamas, Nassau, The Bahamas, Bahamas. Mayra Matos
Mayra Matos Pérez (born August 28, 1988 in San Juan, Puerto Rico) is a Puerto Rican actress, writer, fashion model and beauty pageant titleholder who held the title of Miss Teen International 2006 and Miss Puerto Rico Universe 2009. Miss Puerto Rico Universe 2009 Matos represented Cabo Rojo at the Miss Puerto Rico Universe 2009 pageant where she was crowned Miss Puerto Rico Universe by outgoing titleholder Ingrid Rivera with the assistance of Miss USA 2008 Crystle Stewart and Miss Dominican Republic 2008 Marianne Cruz. She also won the award for "Most Beautiful Face". Miss Universe Preliminary rounds Matos wore a costume modeled after boxing gear during the national costume competition; the piece included a hooded robe, gloves and a championship belt bearing the Coat of arms of Puerto Rico. Villalba, Puerto Rico
Villalba (), originally known as Villa Alba, is town and municipality of Puerto Rico located in the central region, northeast of Juana Díaz; south of Orocovis; and west of Coamo. Villalba is spread over 6 barrios and Villalba Pueblo (the downtown area and the administrative center of the city). It is part of the Ponce Metropolitan Statistical Area. Comerío () is a town and municipality of Puerto Rico in the center-eastern region of island, north of Aibonito; south of Naranjito and Bayamón; east of Barranquitas; and west of Cidra and Aguas Buenas.
