Miss Georgia USA
The Miss Georgia USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of Georgia in the Miss USA pageant. This pageant is directed Greenwood Productions under the ownership of Miss Tennessee USA 1989 Kim Greenwood and it is hosted in McDonough, Georgia. Georgia has had a fair success at Miss USA, and has yet to win the title. The best placement was Erin Nance, who placed 1st runner-up in 1993, and many 2nd and 4th runner-ups. The most recent placement was Alyssa Beasley in 2020, placing Top 16. Four former Miss Georgia Teen USAs went on to win this competition, but only three titleholders has previously competed at Miss America. One represented Connecticut. The current Miss Georgia USA is Rachel Russaw of Atlanta who was crowned on November 19, 2022 at Henry County Performing Arts Center in McDonough. Miss USA
Miss USA is an American beauty pageant that has been held annually since 1952 to select the entrant from United States in the Miss Universe pageant. The Miss Universe Organization operated both pageants, as well as Miss Teen USA, until 2020, when the organization announced it was licensing operation of the Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants to Crystle Stewart, Miss USA for 2008. The pageant was owned by Donald Trump from 1996 to 2015 and was previously broadcast on NBC. In September 2015, WME/IMG purchased the pageant from Trump. In 2020, for the first time, the FYI network broadcast the competition. In October 2022, JKN Global Group acquired the pageant from WME/IMG. Miss USA 2022
Miss USA 2022 was the 71st Miss USA pageant. The competition was held on October 3, 2022 at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada and was broadcast on the FYI cable channel. The competition was hosted by Zuri Hall for the second consecutive year, while Julissa Bermudez and Micah Jesse served as sideline correspondents. This competition was also rebroadcast on October 19, 2022 on the official YouTube channel. Elle Smith of Kentucky crowned R'Bonney Gabriel of Texas as her successor at the end of the event. She will go on to represent the United States at Miss Universe 2022. This was Texas' tenth Miss USA title and first win in 14 years. Miss USA 2017 was the 66th Miss USA pageant. It was held on May 14, 2017 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Terrence J and Julianne Hough served as hosts, while Ashley Graham also returned as backstage host, all for a second consecutive year. Brett Eldredge, Pitbull, and the cast of '' Michael Jackson: One'' by Cirque du Soleil performed. Deshauna Barber of the District of Columbia crowned her successor Kára McCullough, also of the District of Columbia, at the end of the event. Miss America 2018 was the 91st Miss America pageant, though the Miss America Organization celebrated its 97th anniversary in 2017. This discrepancy is due to no national pageants being held from 1928-1932 or in 1934 because of financial problems associated with the Great Depression. The 2018 pageant was held in Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey on Sunday, September 10, 2017.
