Mishigiin Sonompil
Mishigiin Sonompil ( mn, Мишигийн Сономпил; born 1965) is a Mongolian politician who was Mongolia's Minister for Defense from January 2006 to December 2007. Early life and education Mishigiin Sonompil was born in Tes sum, Uvs Aimag (province). He finished from the ten year General Educational School of Darkhan-Uul Aimag in 1984. He graduated from the command class of Defense University of Mongolia in 1988. He worked as a staff sergeant in the military unit of 167th Division of the Mongolian People's Army from 1988 to 1990, and in the Educational Unit of the 150th Division in 1990–1991. Business career From 1994, Sonompil began to work as a manager at his brother Mishigiin Chimedtseren's private company "Zaluu Mongol" and Sonompil took the position of the corporate president in 1997. Shangri-La Dialogue
The IISS Asia Security Summit: The Shangri-La Dialogue (SLD) is a " Track One" inter-governmental security conference held annually in Singapore by an independent think tank, the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS). The dialogue is commonly attended by defence ministers, permanent heads of ministries and military chiefs of mostly Asia-Pacific states. The forum's name is derived from the Shangri-La Hotel in Singapore, where it has been held since 2002. The summit serves to cultivate a sense of community among the most important policymakers in the defence and security community in the region. Government delegations have made the best out of the meeting by holding bilateral meetings with other delegations on the sidelines of the conference. While primarily an inter-governmental meeting, the summit is also attended by legislators, academic experts, distinguished journalists and business delegates. Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj (, ''Cahiagín Elbegdorj'' ; also referred to as Mongolyin Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj and Tsakhia Elbegdorj; born 30 March 1963) is a Mongolian politician who served as President of Mongolia from 2009 to 2017. He previously served as Prime Minister in 1998 and again from 2004 to 2006. Mongolian People's Party
The Mongolian People's Party (MPP) is a social democratic political party in Mongolia. It was founded as a communist party in 1920 by Mongolian revolutionaries and is the oldest political party in Mongolia. The party played an important role in the Mongolian Revolution of 1921, which was inspired by the Bolsheviks' October Revolution. Following independence, it governed Mongolia as a one-party socialist state. The party changed its name to the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party (MPRP) and joined the Communist International in 1924.
