Misfits Records
Misfits Records is an independent record label conceived of in 2002 by founders Jerry Only of the Misfits and John Cafiero of Osaka Popstar. Intended to release Misfits material after the band's contractual obligations to Roadrunner Records were fulfilled by 2001's '' Cuts from the Crypt'', the label's first non-Misfits signing was Japanese horror punk band Balzac, and its first release was the Misfits/Balzac split single " Day the Earth Caught Fire". In 2003 the label became a formal company and launched worldwide with its first full-length releases. Misfits Records has also released material by The Nutley Brass, Osaka Popstar Osaka Popstar is a punk rock supergroup formed in 2006 by New Yorker John Cafiero. In 2006, Cafiero teamed up with several well known punk rock artists to create the anime based punk group, Osaka Popstar. They released their debut album/DVD on ..., and JuiceheaD. Jerry Only
Gerald Caiafa Jr. (born April 21, 1959), better known by his stage name Jerry Only, is an American musician, best known as the bassist for the Misfits and later the vocalist as well. He is the only member to appear in every Misfits lineup. Biography Misfits Only in 2008 Gerald Caiafa Jr. was born in Lodi, New Jersey. He started The Misfits with Glenn Danzig on vocals and Manny on drums in 1977, just a few months after receiving his first bass as a late Christmas present. He would work at his father's machine shop during the week to help finance the band and play shows on the weekend. This would go on for several years and the band split due to differences between Danzig and the rest of the band. During this downtime, Only and his brother Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein (the guitarist for the Misfits) formed Kryst The Conqueror. The twelve-inch single (often written as 12-inch or 12″) is a type of vinyl ( polyvinyl chloride or PVC) gramophone record that has wider groove spacing and shorter playing time with a 'single' or a few related sound tracks on each surface, compared to LPs (long play) which have several songs on each side. This allows for louder levels to be cut on the disc by the mastering engineer, which in turn gives a wider dynamic range, and thus better sound quality. "Land of the Dead" is a single by the horror punk band the Misfits, released October 27, 2009 through Misfits Records. It is the first release of new studio material from the band since the 2003 covers album ''Project 1950'', and their first release of new, original material since 1999's '' Famous Monsters''. It is also the only release by the band's 2005–2010 lineup of Jerry Only, Dez Cadena, and Robo. The single's cover artwork, by '' Marvel Zombies'' artist Arthur Suydam, is based on the band's "Crimson Ghost" skull logo. Both the cover art and the single's two songs, "Land of the Dead" and "Twilight of the Dead", are an homage to director George A. Romero's ''Living Dead'' series of zombie films. Picture Disc
Picture discs are gramophone (phonograph) records that show images on their playing surface, rather than being of plain black or colored vinyl. Collectors traditionally reserve the term picture disc for records with graphics that extend at least partly into the actual playable grooved area, distinguishing them from picture label discs, which have a specially illustrated and sometimes very large label, and picture back discs, which are illustrated on one unplayable side only. Psycho In The Wax Museum
''Psycho in the Wax Museum'' is an EP by the American punk rock band Misfits. It features two songs that were previously unreleased and were recorded during the '' American Psycho'' sessions. The versions included are instrumental, as it has been reported that the vocals were never recorded ("Angel Baby" has previously been performed live at soundcheck with vocals by Michale Graves). The single was only available via an offer from Misfits Records where proofs of purchase had to be sent in from Osaka Popstar's '' Osaka Popstar and the American Legends of Punk'', Balzac's '' Beyond the Darkness'' and the Misfits' ''Project 1950''. The cover art is by Butch Lukic and features the Misfits' mascot Crimson Ghost. The vinyl itself features an etched pattern of Fiend Skulls in the area that doesn't feature music.
