"Land of the Dead" is a single by the horror punk band the Misfits, released October 27, 2009 through Misfits Records. It is the first release of new studio material from the band since the 2003 covers album ''Project 1950'', and their first release of new, original material since 1999's ''Famous Monsters''. It is also the only release by the band's 2005–2010 lineup of Jerry Only, Dez Cadena, and Robo. The single's cover artwork, by ''Marvel Zombies'' artist Arthur Suydam, is based on the band's "Crimson Ghost" skull logo. Both the cover art and the single's two songs, "Land of the Dead" and "Twilight of the Dead", are an homage to director George A. Romero's ''Living Dead'' series of zombie films. "Land of the Dead" is named after Romero's 2005 film of the same name, for which ''Twilight of the Dead'' was a working title. Arthur Suydam (born May 18, 1953) is an American comic book artist known for his work on Marvel Zombies, Deadpool, Black Panther, and KISS Zombies. He has done artwork for magazines including '' Heavy Metal'', '' Epic Illustrated'' and '' National Lampoon'', while his comic book work includes ''Batman'', '' Conan'', ''Tarzan'', ''Predator'', ''Aliens'', '' Death Dealer'', and '' Marvel Zombies''. Early life Arthur Suydam was born May 18, 1953. His great-uncle, John Suydam, was an artist in the 19th-century Hudson River School of painting. ''Marvel Zombies'' is a comic book metaseries published by Marvel Comics. The series features zombie versions of Marvel Universe superheroes and supervillains who have been portrayed as both protagonists and antagonists through the different limited series within the metaseries. ''American Psycho'' is the fourth studio album by the American punk rock band Misfits. Released on May 13, 1997, it was the first to be recorded and released without the band's founder and former leader Glenn Danzig. Bassist Jerry Only, after years of litigation, reached a settlement with Danzig and was granted the rights to use the band's name and image to record and perform. The album also marked the addition of singer Michale Graves and Dr. Chud on drums. Originally, the album was going to be titled ''Dead Kings Rise'', a play on the band's resurrection, but was changed when the title track did not make the album. "Night of the Living Dead" is the fourth single by the horror punk band the Misfits. It was released on October 31, 1979, on singer Glenn Danzig's label Plan 9 Records. 2,000 copies of the single were pressed on black 7" vinyl. The night of its release the band performed at Irving Plaza in New York City and sold the single at the door. "Night of the Living Dead" is titled after the 1968 horror film of the same name, and the song's lyrics address the zombie plot of the film: "You think you're a zombie, you think it's a scene/from some monster magazine/Open your eyes too late/This ain't no fantasy boy". The song was later included on the band's debut album, ''Walk Among Us''. "Where Eagles Dare" shares its title with a 1968 war film.
