Misamis Oriental State College Of Agriculture And Technology
The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP Claveria), currently the ''University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines – Claveria Campus'', is a public institution of tertiary education. In 2016, MOSCAT was amalgamated with the Mindanao University of Science and Technology to establish the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines. Profile History MOSCAT started as Claveria Municipal High School in 1963 with 165 students and five teachers under the leadership of its first administrator, the late Romeo Abilo. In 1967, it was converted to Claveria National Rural High School (CNRHS) by virtue of RA 3781 under the staunch leadership of the late Marcos Edrolin. On June 10, 1983, Batas Pambansa 402 was approved and converted the CNRHS to Misamis Oriental State College of Agriculture and Technology or MOSCAT with Arsenio B. Gonzales as its first president. The University of Science and Technology of The Philippines (USTP; fil, Pamantasan ng Agham at Teknolohiya ng Pilipinas) is a state university system in the Philippines established on August 16, 2016, by virtue of Republic Act 10919 through the amalgamation of the Mindanao University of Science and Technology (MUST) in Cagayan de Oro City and the Misamis Oriental State College of Agriculture and Technology (MOSCAT) in Claveria, Misamis Oriental. Both campuses are located in Northern Mindanao, considered the Gateway to Mindanao, which offers a strategic locational advantage for the institution to train and develop students from all the other regions of Mindanao. Claveria, officially the Municipality of Claveria ( ceb, Lungsod sa Claveria; tl, Bayan ng Claveria), is a 1st class municipality in the province of Misamis Oriental, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 52,478 people. It is the only landlocked municipality of Misamis Oriental. It is also the largest in terms of land area in the province. Misamis Oriental ( ceb, Sidlakang Misamis; tl, Silangang Misamis), officially the Province of Misamis Oriental, is a province located in the region of Northern Mindanao in the Philippines. A demonstration farm, or model farm, is a farm which is used primarily to research or demonstrate various agricultural techniques, with any economic gains being an added bonus.
