"Mirror in the Bathroom" is a single by British ska band the Beat released as a single in 1980 from their debut album '' I Just Can't Stop It''. It reached number 4 in the UK Singles Chart and consequently was their highest charting release in the UK until 1983. It was released again in 1995 as a 12" single and early in 1996 as a CD single (both containing contemporary club remixes) to promote '' B.P.M.: The Very Best of the Beat''. The reissued single reached number 44 in 1996. The song was ranked at #3 among the top ten "Tracks of the Year" for 1980 by '' NME''. Composition According to composer and singer Dave Wakeling, the song originated when he was working on a construction site and he got up for work one winter morning after "a couple of drinks" and found his clothes still wet on the bathroom floor. Ellie Kim, artist name SuperKnova, is a singer, activist, physician and musician. She has released two studio albums, ''American Queers'' and, most recently, ''superuniverse''. Ethan Stoller is an American composer, music editor and producer from Chicago, Illinois. Stoller's first film score was for the independently produced ''Roadrunner'' (dir. WSUN (97.1 MHz) is a commercial FM radio station, licensed to Holiday, Florida, and serving the Tampa Bay Area. The station is owned by Spanish Broadcasting System, and airs a Spanish contemporary hits format branded as "El Zol 97.1". The transmitter site is off Dartmouth Drive in Holiday. History The station signed on September 1, 1978, on the 106.3 FM frequency as WHBS, a station that served primarily Pasco and northern Pinellas Counties. The station later became WVTY, then WLVU, carrying an easy listening format and later adult contemporary. In 1998, the station would relocate to 97.1 FM (swapping frequencies with Citrus County's WXOF), to better reach the Tampa Bay market. William "Smokey" Robinson Jr. (born February 19, 1940) is an American singer, songwriter, record producer, and former record executive director. He was the founder and front man of the Motown vocal group the Miracles, for which he was also chief songwriter and producer. He led the group from its 1955 origins as "the Five Chimes" until 1972, when he announced his retirement from the group to focus on his role as Motown's vice president. However, Robinson returned to the music industry as a solo artist the following year. Robinson left Motown Records in 1990, following the sale of the company two years earlier. 2 Tone Records was an English independent record label that mostly released ska and reggae-influenced music with a punk rock and pop music overtone. It was founded by Jerry Dammers of the Specials and backed by Chrysalis Records. History Jerry Dammers of the ska revival band the Specials started the record label in 1979. Chrysalis had wanted to sign the Specials, but Dammers arranged a label deal, for Chrysalis to fund 15 singles a year and release at least ten of those.
