Divisions Of Pakistan
The four provinces, capital territory and two autonomous territories of Pakistan are subdivided into 38 administrative "divisions", which are further subdivided into districts, tehsils and finally union councils. These divisions were abolished in 2000, but restored in 2008. Mithi
Mithi (, ur, ), is a city and the capital of Tharparkar District in the Sindh province of Pakistan. It became the district headquarter of the Tharparkar District in 1990, after the area's separation from Mirpur Khas. Mithi is one of the very few regions in Pakistan where Hindus form a majority. Close to 80% of the population in this region belong to the Hindu community. Both Hindus and Muslims reportedly live peacefully and there has been no reports of religious intolerance. Geography The town is located at 24°74'0N 69°80'0E with an altitude of 28 metres (92 feet). It lies 450 kilometres from Karachi and is located in a desert area. Samaro ( ur, ) is a tehsil in the Sindh province of Pakistan. The town is the headquarters of a tehsil (an administrative subdivision) of Umarkot District. History During British rule the town was renamed Jamesabad (literally "Jamestown" - not to be confused with Jamesabad in Punjab) and was a subdivision of the old Tharparkar District (which had larger boundaries than today.) The taluka of Jamesabad was part of the Bombay Presidency, lying between 24°50' and 25°28' N. and 69°14' and 69°35′E and had an area of . Umerkot (formerly known as Amarkot) is a city in the Sindh province of Pakistan. The local language is Dhatki, which is one of the Rajasthani languages of the Indo-Aryan language family. Nagarparkar ( ur, , sd, ننگرپارڪر), is a tehsil in at the base of the Karoonjhar Mountains in Tharparkar District in Sindh province of Pakistan. Islamkot Tehsil ( ur, ), () is a Tehsil in the Tharparkar District in Sindh, Pakistan. Hundreds of neem trees seen on Islamkot-Mithi, Islamkot-Chachro and Islamkot-Nagarparkar roads were planted during chairmanship of Nihalchand Pabani and under his care.
