Miroslav Srnka
Miroslav Srnka (born 23 March 1975 in Prague) is a Czech composer. Early life Srnka studied musicology at Charles University Prague from 1993 to 1999 and composition with Milan Slavický at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague from 1998 to 2003. He continued his studies from 1995 to 1996 at Humboldt University of Berlin and in 2001 at the Conservatoire de Paris. He took composition master classes with Ivan Fedele in 2002 and Philippe Manoury in 2004, as well as a course at IRCAM in 2001. He was the composer in residence of the Theater & Orchester Heidelberg. Career His pieces were performed by Ensemble InterContemporain, Klangforum Wien, Ensemble Modern, Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic, Prague Philharmonia and others, at festivals including Prague Spring, Ultraschall Berlin, Milano Musica, Printemps des Arts de Monte-Carlo and Wittener Tage für neue Kammermusik. Bregenzer Festspiele
Bregenzer Festspiele (; Bregenz Festival) is a performing arts festival which is held every July and August in Bregenz in Vorarlberg (Austria). It features a large floating stage which is situated on Lake Constance. History The Festival became an international event in its first year 1946, one year after World War II. People from Germany, Switzerland and France came to the festival. Two stages were created out of floating barges. One barge for the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and the other barge for carrying stage structures. The Vienna Symphony Orchestra is the biggest contributor to the Festival. Hans Neuenfels
Hans Neuenfels (; 31 May 1941 – 6 February 2022) was a German writer, poet, film producer, librettist, theatre director, opera director and theatre manager. As a director, he first focused on drama, staged at prominent houses such as the Vienna Burgtheater, and became a leading exponent of German Regietheater. From 1974, he turned to opera, looking for "the subliminal of the music and the interlinear of the texts", for "surprisingly new, sometimes even disturbingly ambivalent perspectives on the works". Some of his opera productions caused controversies, such as Verdi's ''Aida'' at the Oper Frankfurt in 1980 where he staged the title character as a contemporary cleaning lady. Kirill Garrievich Petrenko (russian: Кирилл Гарриевич Петренко, Latin script: ; born 11 February 1972) is a Russian-Austrian conductor. He is chief conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic. Early life Petrenko was born in Omsk, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union, to a violinist father and musicologist mother. He is of Jewish descent. His father was born in Lviv (now in Ukraine). Petrenko studied piano as a youth, and made his public debut as a pianist at age 11. At age 18, he and his family emigrated to Austria, where his father played in the Symphony Orchestra Vorarlberg. Rolando Villazón Mauleón (born 22 February 1972) is a Mexican operatic tenor, stage director, author, radio and television personality and artistic director. He now lives in France, and in 2007 became a French citizen. Villazón has published several books, including the novels ''Malabares'' and ''Paladas de sombra contra la oscuridad'' which have been translated into French and German.
