Miraflores Central Park
Miraflores Central Park ( es, Parque Central de Miraflores), also known as Miraflores Park ( es, Parque de Miraflores), is a public park located in Miraflores, Lima, Peru. It is divided into two parks: John F. Kennedy Park ( es, Parque John F. Kennedy) and 7 June Park ( es, Parque 7 de Junio). The former gives the entire park complex its popular name, Kennedy Park. The park is known for its large presence of street cats, and is commonly used for events such as book fairs and marathons, as well as '' Fiestas Patrias'' celebrations such as the ''Corso Wong'', and political and social protests. The 2019 Pan American Games ( es, Juegos Panamericanos de 2019, links=no), officially the XVIII Pan American Games and commonly known as the Lima 2019 Pan-Am Games or Lima 2019 ( qu, Limaq 2019), were a multi-sport event governed by the Panam Sports Organization, were held in Lima, Peru from July 26 to August 11, 2019, with preliminary rounds in certain events having begun on July 24, 2019. These were the first Pan American Games to be held in Peru, and the seventh to be held in South America. Athletics competitions at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru were held between July 27 and August 11, 2019 at the Athletics Stadium in the Villa Deportiva Nacional Videna cluster, with the marathon and walks being held at Kennedy Park. A total of 48 events were contested, equally divided among men and women. The women's 50 km walk was added for this edition, marking the first time men and women competed in an equal number of events. Qualification Up to a total of 740 athletes were qualified to compete. Jorge Vicente Martín Muñoz Wells (born 13 April 1962) is a Peruvian lawyer and politician who served as mayor of Lima from January 2019 until his removal from office by the National Jury of Elections in April 2022. María Isabel Granda Larco (3 September 1920 – 8 March 1983), better known as Chabuca Granda, was a Peruvian singer and composer. She created and interpreted a vast number of Criollo waltzes with Afro-Peruvian rhythms. Granda's "La flor de la canela", "José Antonio", "El Puente de los Suspiros", and "Fina estampa" helped the singer receive international recognition.
