Minnesota State Highway 269 (MN 269) is a short highway in southwest Minnesota, which runs from South Dakota Highway 11 (SD 11) at the South Dakota state line to an intersection with State Highway 23 (MN 23) in the city of Jasper. Route description Highway 269 begins at the South Dakota state line as a continuation of SD 11. It runs in rural southwest Minnesota along the Rock– Pipestone county line for most of its length. The highway juts slightly north into Pipestone County after entering the city of Jasper. It ends at an intersection with MN 23, known as Railroad Avenue, in the southern part of Jasper. Jasper is a city in Pipestone and Rock counties in the State of Minnesota. The population was 633 at the 2010 census. Most of the city lies in Pipestone County, with only a small part of the city extending into Rock County. History Jasper was platted in 1888. The city was named for deposits of jasper mined nearby. A post office has been in operation at Jasper since 1888. Jasper was incorporated in 1889. On July 8, 1927 a tornado near the town was photographed by Lucille Handberg. Rock County is a County (United States), county at the southwestern corner of the U.S. state of Minnesota. As of the 2020 United States census, 2020 census, the population was 9,704. Its county seat is Luverne, Minnesota, Luverne. History The county was formed on May 23, 1857, by act of the territorial legislature, but was not organized at that time. Pipestone County is a county in the U.S. state of Minnesota. As of the 2020 census, the population was 9,424. Its county seat is Pipestone. History The county was formed on May 23, 1857, by act of the territorial legislature, but was not organized at that time. The area was first designated ''Rock County'' while the name ''Pipestone County'' was attached to neighboring Rock County. An act of the Minnesota state legislature on February 20, 1862, swapped the designations, attaching the present names to the present counties, due to the pipestone quarry in this county. Pipestone County organization was effected by a state act on January 27, 1879, with Pipestone City (which had been platted in 1876) as the county seat (the name of the county seat was later shortened to Pipestone). South Dakota Highway 11 (SD 11) is a state highway in eastern South Dakota, United States. It connects the northern part of the Sioux City metropolitan area with the Sioux Falls metropolitan area. The highway originally traveled on the current path of SD 115 in Sioux Falls and Dell Rapids, and ended north of Elkton. In the 1930s, SD 11 was shifted to its current alignment; part of the highway became SD 13. The southern segment was added between 1962 and 1971. Interstate 90 In Minnesota
Interstate 90 (I-90) in the US state of Minnesota runs for across the southern side of the state, parallel to the Iowa state line. The route connects the cities of Worthington, Albert Lea, Austin, and Rochester. The city of Winona is also in close proximity to I-90, with about between the Interstate and the city.
