Minnesota State Highway 194 (MN 194) is a highway in northeast Minnesota, which runs from its intersection with U.S. Highway 2 in Solway Township (near Hermantown) and continues east to its eastern terminus at its Mesaba Avenue interchange with Interstate Highway 35 in downtown Duluth. For part of its route, it runs together with U.S. Highway 53. The route passes through the cities of Hermantown and Duluth. Highway 194 is also known as Central Entrance and Mesaba Avenue within Duluth. A concurrency in a road network is an instance of one physical roadway bearing two or more different route numbers. When two roadways share the same right-of-way, it is sometimes called a common section or commons. Interstate 94 (I-94) in the US state of Minnesota runs east–west through the central portion of the state. The highway connects the cities of Moorhead, Fergus Falls, Alexandria, St. Cloud, Minneapolis, and Saint Paul. Authorized in 1956, it was mostly constructed in the 1960s. Route description I-94 enters the state from North Dakota at the city of Moorhead and heads southeast after serving Moorhead. Albert Lea, Minnesota
Albert Lea is a city in Freeborn County, in southern Minnesota. It is the county seat. Its population was 18,492 at the 2020 census. The city is at the junction of Interstates 35 and 90, about south of the Twin Cities. It is on the shores of Fountain Lake, Pickerel Lake, Albert Lea Lake, Goose Lake, School Lake, and Lake Chapeau. Fountain Lake and Albert Lea Lake are part of the Shell Rock River flowage. The Highway 53 or Miller Trunk Corridor refers to a large agglomeration of retail development in Duluth, Minnesota on and around U.S. Highway 53, and by extension, State Highway 194 (Central Entrance), and parts of the Arrowhead, Haines, and Maple Grove Roads. The Miller Hill Mall is the most visible of the corridor's anchors, although not the first. Most chain stores and restaurants present in Duluth are found in the corridor, although numerous local businesses are present as well. Interstate 35 (I-35) is a north–south Interstate Highway that stretches from Laredo, Texas, to Duluth, Minnesota. In the US state of Minnesota, I-35 enters from Iowa and heads north toward the twin cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul. South of the metropolitan area, I-35 splits into two branches; I-35E runs through Saint Paul and I-35W through Minneapolis.
