Minneapolis Fire Department
The Minneapolis Fire Department provides fire protection and first responder emergency medical services to the city of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Operations The MFD currently operates out of 19 Fire Stations, located throughout the city in 5 Battalions, under the command of 5 Battalion Chiefs and 1 Deputy Chief each shift. The MFD is also home to the Minnesota Task Force One (MNTF1) USAR Unit. Minnesota Task Force 1 The Minneapolis Fire Department is one of the sponsoring agencies of Minnesota Task Force 1 (MN-TF1) an urban search and rescue team based in Minneapolis–Saint Paul metro area. Similar to the FEMA Urban Search and Rescue Task Forces located across the United States, MN-TF1 is a State of Minnesota resource designed to assist with emergencies involving natural or manmade disasters that require search and rescue personnel. Powderhorn Park, Minneapolis
The Powderhorn Park neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States (part of the larger Powderhorn community) is located approximately three miles south of downtown and is bordered by East Lake Street to the north, Cedar Avenue to the east, East 38th Street to the south, and Chicago Avenue to the west. Its namesake is the city's Powderhorn Park facility in the northwestern part of the neighborhood around Powderhorn Lake, which contains playing fields, playgrounds and a park building that hosts community education classes ranging from pottery to yoga. In winter, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board sets up a portable warming house and the lake is used for ice skating. West Maka Ska, formerly known as West Calhoun, is a neighborhood in the U.S. city of Minneapolis. The neighborhood was general rural with a couple grain silos along the railroad track heading into Downtown Minneapolis until about the 1910s. Although the railroad still runs through the neighborhood, the neighborhood is now mainly homes, apartment buildings, and strip malls. It is the southwestern-most neighborhood of the Calhoun Isles community in the western part of the city. Bryant is a neighborhood within the Powderhorn community in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. Its boundaries are East 38th Street to the north, Chicago Avenue to the east, East 42nd Street to the south, and Interstate 35W to the west. The Audubon Park neighborhood is located in the Northeast community in Minneapolis. Audubon Park is one of ten neighborhoods in Ward 1 of Minneapolis, which is represented on the Minneapolis City Council by Councilmember Elliot Payne. The neighborhood is bounded by Saint Anthony Parkway to the north, NE Stinson Parkway to the east, NE Lowry Avenue to the south, and Central Avenue to the west. Marcy-Holmes is a defined neighborhood in the U.S. city of Minneapolis. The majority of the area is residential and sits upon a bluff overlooking the river and the city skyline. However, a small section of the neighborhood along the river is an industrial zone. The neighborhood is bordered on the south by the Mississippi River, to the east by the University of Minnesota and 15th Avenue Southeast, to the north by the railroad tracks that separate it from the Como Neighborhood, and to the west by Central Avenue.
