Charles Malik
Charles Habib Malik (sometimes spelled ''Charles Habib Malik''; 11 February 1906 – 28 December 1987; ar, شارل مالك) was a Lebanese academic, diplomat, philosopher, and politician. He served as the Lebanese representative to the United Nations, the President of the Commission on Human Rights and the United Nations General Assembly, a member of the Lebanese Cabinet, a national minister of Education and the Arts, and of Foreign Affairs and Emigration, and theologian. He participated in the drafting of the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Birth and education Born in Btourram, Ottoman Empire, Malik was the son of Dr. Habib Malik and Dr. Zarifa Karam. Farès Boueiz
Farès Boueiz (Arabic: فارس بويز, born 15 January 1955) is a Lebanese jurist who served as a foreign minister for two terms as well as an environment minister. Early life and education On 15 January 1955, Boueiz was born into a Maronite family in Zouk Mikael. In 1977 he obtained a law degree from Saint Joseph University in Lebanon, and in 1978 he specialized in corporate and international law at Jean Moulin University in Lyon, France. Career Boueiz is a lawyer by profession. In 1989 and 1990, he was appointed as Elias Hrawi's, President of Lebanon, personal representative to France, Syria and the Vatican. Selim Ahmed Hoss ( ar, سليم أحمد الحص; also transliterated ''Salim Al-Hoss;'' born 20 December 1929) is a veteran Lebanese politician who served as the Prime Minister of Lebanon and a longtime Member of Parliament representing his hometown, Beirut. Elie Salem (born 1930) is a Lebanese academic and politician. He served as the deputy prime minister and minister of foreign affairs between 1982 and 1984. He was the president of the University of Balamand. Early life and education Salem was born in Btourram on 5 March 1930. He graduated from American University of Beirut in 1950 obtaining a degree in political science. Then he attended an American university. Camille Nimr Chamoun OM, ONC ( ar, كميل نمر شمعون, ''Kamīl Sham'ūn''; 3 April 1900 – 7 August 1987) was a Lebanese politician who served as President of Lebanon from 1952 to 1958. He was one of the country's main Christian leaders during most of the Lebanese Civil War (1975–1990). Lucien Dahdah () (15 August 1929 – 16 November 2003) was a Lebanese academic, businessman, media executive and politician, who served as foreign minister in 1975. Early life and education Dahdah was born on 15 August 1929. He was a graduate of American University of Beirut (AUB), Sorbonne University in Paris and Birmingham University. Fouad Naffah (Arabic: فؤاد نفاع; M 1 March 1925 – 9 April 2017) was a Lebanese politician and former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Finance and deputy for Keserwan (1960–1964, and 1972–1992). Khalil Abou Hamad
Khalil Abou Hamad (1936–1992) was a Lebanese lawyer who served as the minister of foreign affairs in the period 1970–1973. Biography Abou Hamad was born in 1936. He hailed from a Greek Catholic family. He was a lawyer by profession and founded a law firm in Beirut. He was named as the minister of foreign affairs on 13 October 1970 in the cabinet led by Prime Minister Saeb Salam, replacing Nassim Majdalani in the post. Rashid Abdul Hamid Karami (30 December 1921 – 1 June 1987) ( ar, رشيد كرامي) was a Lebanese statesman.
