The Government of Nepal ( ne, नेपाल सरकार) is the federal executive authority of Nepal. Prior to the abolition of the Nepali monarchy in 2006 (became republic in 2008), it was officially known as His Majesty's Government. The head of state is the president and the prime minister holds the position of the head of executive. The role of president is largely ceremonial as the functioning of the government is managed entirely by the prime minister, who is appointed by the Parliament. Narayan Khadka
Narayan Khadka is a central member of Nepali Congress who has served as the Foreign minister of Nepal since 2021. He has worked previously as Minister of Urban Development under Sushil Koirala-led government. He is a member of the 2nd Nepalese Constituent Assembly. Birgunj ( ne, वीरगञ्ज) is a metropolitan city in Parsa District in Madhesh Province of southern Nepal. It lies south of the capital Kathmandu, attached in the north to Raxaul in the border of the Indian state of Bihar. As an entry point to Nepal from Patna, Birgunj is known as the "Gateway of Nepal". Nepal's first semblance of a diplomatic network started in the reign of King Prithivi Narayan Shah, when in 1769 he established a foreign office called ''Jaishi Kotha''. Over centuries the office slowly grew in stature until it became a government Department in 1934, although by the time of the revolution in 1950 Nepal only had diplomatic relations with India, Britain, France and the United States.
