The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is one of the governmental bodies of Kuwait and part of the cabinet. It was started in 1961. History and overview In 1961, a Foreign Affairs Department Bureau was established in Kuwait to organize the foreign relations of the country. This body was soon relaunched as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, becoming the first ministerial body of the country. The first foreign minister of Kuwait was Sabah Al Salim Al Sabah. He was followed by Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait delegates ambassadors and military attachés bureau in foreign diplomatic missions in countries such as the United States, Russia, United Kingdom, Germany, France, China, Italy and Korea. Government Of Kuwait
Kuwait is an emirate with a political system consisting of an appointed judiciary, appointed government (dominated by the Al Sabah ruling family), and nominally elected parliament. Executive branch The Constitution of Kuwait was approved and promulgated on 17 November 1962. Government The prime minister chooses the cabinet of ministers, which form the government. The prime minister is a member of the ruling family and is appointed by the Emir. Emir The Emir's powers are defined by the 1961 constitution. These powers include appointing the prime minister, who in turn chooses the cabinet of ministers (government). Upon the death of the Emir, the crown prince succeeds. Sabah Al Khalid Al Sabah ( ar, الشيخ صباح الخالد الحمد الصباح; born 3 March 1953) is a Kuwaiti diplomat and politician who served as the Prime Minister of Kuwait from 2019 to 2022. he served in different governmental posts from 2006 until 2019. His Highness Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah (; born 10 October 1955) is the former Deputy Prime Minister of Kuwait. The Emir of Kuwait HRH Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad issued an Emiri Decree on Tuesday 19 July 2022 appointing him Prime Minister. On 24 July 2022, after Al-Sabah faced opposition in the Kuwaiti Parliament, the Emir appointed Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah as new Prime Minister.
