The Ministry of Environment and Energy of the Republic of Croatia ( hr, Ministarstvo zaštite okoliša i energetike) is the ministry in the Government of Croatia which is in charge of environmental protection. Under the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) governments the sector of Environmental and Nature Protection was always part of the Ministry of Construction and Spatial Planning, while in the Social Democratic Party of Croatia (SDP) governments the sector split off and was given a separate ministry. Rudolf Barracks
Rudolf barracks ( hr, Rudolfova vojarna) is historic army barracks site in Zagreb, Croatia, today serving for various public purposes. Barracks were built at the outskirts of contemporary Zagreb in 1888/1889, the same time as number of army barracks in the western part of Zagreb during Khuen Hedervary's rule in Croatia. It was named in honor of crown prince Rudolf of Austria who opened construction works in 1888. The complex was built as infantry barracks at the end of newly constructed Prilaz Avenue, effectively blocking further communication from city center towards Črnomerec, but its main building gave a monumental ending to Prilaz, similar to the way Zagreb Glavni railway station gave a monumental ending to three parks in center of the city. Liberal Party (Croatia)
The Liberal Party ( hr, Liberalna stranka or LS) was a Croatian social-liberal political party active between January 1998 and April 2006. During its existence the party ran in two general elections (in 2000 and 2003) and in each election won two seats in the 151-seat Sabor. LS was a member of Liberal International and the European Liberal Democrat and Reform Party. Its last leader was Zlatko Benašić. The party was formed in January 1998 following a party split in November 1997 when a faction led by Vlado Gotovac, then chairman of Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS), left the party because of internal power struggles which resulted in former chairman Dražen Budiša taking back control of the party. Mihael Zmajlović (born 19 January 1978) is a Croatian economist and politician who served as a minister at Ministry of Environmental Protection and Nature at the Cabinet of Zoran Milanović from 2012 until 2016, had previously served as mayor of Jastrebarsko from 2009 until 2012. Ivo Banac (; 1 March 1947 – 30 June 2020) was a Croatian-American historian, a professor of European history at Yale University and a politician of the former Liberal Party in Croatia, known as the Great Bard of Croatian historiography. , Banac was a consultant for the Bosnian Institute.
