Podgorica (Cyrillic script, Cyrillic: Подгорица, ; Literal translation, lit. 'under the hill') is the Capital city, capital and List of cities and towns in Montenegro, largest city of Montenegro. The city was formerly known as Titograd (Cyrillic script, Cyrillic: Титоград, ) between 1946 and 1992—in the period that Montenegro formed, as the Socialist Republic of Montenegro in honour of Marshal of Yugoslavia, Marshal Josip Broz Tito. Slobodan Backović (born September 3, 1946 in Nikšić, Montenegro) is a Montenegrin politician and nuclear physicist. He is a member of the Doclean Academy of Sciences and Arts and the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts. Slavoljub "Migo" Stijepović ( sr-cyrl, Славољуб "Миго" Стијепови; born 2 May 1959 in Titograd, SFR Yugoslavia, now Podgorica, Montenegro) is a Montenegrin politician who was the Minister of Science and Education in Government of Montenegro from 2010 until 2014 and previously a minister without portfolio, between 2008 and 2010.
