Ministry Of Education, Science And Technology (Nepal)
The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology ( ne, शिक्षा, विज्ञान तथा प्रविधि मन्त्रालय) is a governmental body of Nepal responsible for the overall development of education in Nepal. The ministry is responsible for formulating educational policies and plans and managing and implementing them across the country through the institutions under it. In 2018, under the second Oli cabinet, the portfolio of the ministry was enlarged and the portfolios of ''Science and Technology'' were added to the then ''Ministry of Education'', while the ''Ministry of Science and Technology'' was discontinued. The ministry is currently headed by Devendra Paudel. The Government of Nepal ( ne, नेपाल सरकार) is the federal executive authority of Nepal. Prior to the abolition of the Nepali monarchy in 2006 (became republic in 2008), it was officially known as His Majesty's Government. The head of state is the president and the prime minister holds the position of the head of executive. The role of president is largely ceremonial as the functioning of the government is managed entirely by the prime minister, who is appointed by the Parliament. The Nepal Loktantrik Forum (translation: ''Nepal Democratic Forum'') was a political party in Nepal. The party was established on April 5, 2017, after merging with the Madheshi Jana Adhikar Forum (Democratic), the Rastriya Janamukti Party (Democratic), and the Dalit Janajati Party. On October 16, 2017, Nepal Loktantrik Forum merged into the Nepali Congress. History The Nepal Democratic Forum underwent a series of frequent mergers between April and June 2017. First, the Tharuhat Tarai Party, led by Bhanu Ram Chaudhary, merged with the NLF on April 20, 2017. Formal higher learning in Nepal began with the establishment of Tri-Chandra College in 1918, the first college in the country. Until 1985, Tribhuvan University was the only university in the country. The second university to be founded was Mahendra Sanskrit University. A clash between the Nepalese government forces and the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN- Maoist) occurred between 1996 and 2006, resulting in an increase in human rights abuses throughout the country. Both sides have been accused of torture, unlawful killings, arbitrary arrests, and abductions. Nepal was home to the most disappearances in the world during the conflict. The conflict is also considered one of the major reasons for a lack of development in Nepal, a reduction in human rights in the realms of poverty, health, education, and gender equality. Political career Shrestha joined politics in 1979 as a member of CPN ML, the predecessor of CPN UML. He was arrested and imprisoned multiple times during the fight against the partyless Panchayat system. He became the party's Kathmandu district secretary in 1982. Singha Durbar ( ne, सिंहदरवार, lit=Lion's Palace) is a palace in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. The palace complex lies in the centre of Kathmandu, to the north of the Babar Mahal and Thapathali Durbar and east of Bhadrakali Temple. This palace was built by Chandra Shumsher JBR in June 1908.
