The Ministry of Community Empowerment and Advancement ( he, המִשְׂרַד לחיזוק וקידום קהילתי, ''Ha-Misrad LeHizuk V'Kidum Kehilati'') of the government of Israel, is the governmental department responsible for Communal Development in the State of Israel. History The Ministry was established in May 2020 during the negotiations to form a new government after the election to Knesset. The Ministry oversees the work of the Anti-Violence and Anti-Drug Authority, the National Child Protection Network, a City Without Violence project and various projects to strengthen the Arab sector. Its political head is the Community Empowerment and Advancement Minister of Israel, and its offices are located in Jerusalem. The Cabinet of Israel (officially: he, ממשלת ישראל ''Memshelet Yisrael'') exercises executive authority in the State of Israel. It consists of ministers who are chosen and led by the prime minister. The composition of the government must be approved by a vote of confidence in the Knesset (the Israeli parliament). Under Israeli law, the prime minister may dismiss members of the government, but must do so in writing, and new appointees must be approved by the Knesset. Omer Bar-Lev ( he, עֹמֶר בַּר־לֵב‎; born 2 October 1953) is an Israeli politician who formerly served as Minister of Public Security. He was previously a member of the Knesset for the Israeli Labor Party. Gesher ( he, גשר, lit. ''Bridge'') was a liberal Zionist, social liberal, and centrist political party in Israel, established in December 2018 by former Yisrael Beitenu MK Orly Levy.
