The Ministry of Internal Affairs ( Montenegrin: ''Ministarstvo Unutrašnjih Poslova Crne Gore / Министарство унутрашњих послова'') is a Ministry in the Government of Montenegro, tasked with oversight and strategic planning of law enforcement apparatus in Montenegro, including budgetary oversight and internal affairs, as well as direct control over disaster relief and emergency situations management, maintaining citizen, vehicle and firearms databases, issuance of ID cards, passports, driving and firearms licences. It also has certain jurisdiction over border security management, and operates police aviation unit. History Historically, Ministry was the main arm of law enforcement and state intelligence. Sergej Sekulović (Montenegrin Cyrillic: Сергеј Секуловић; born 1978 in Titograd) is a Montenegrin lawyer and independent politician who served as the Minister of Internal Affairs in the Government of Montenegro and the cabinet of Zdravko Krivokapić from 4 December 2020 to 28 April 2022, he replaced Mevludin Nuhodžić of the Democratic Party of Socialists. Mevludin Nuhodžić (Serbian Cyrillic: Мевлудин Нухоџић; born 1959) is a Montenegrin politician who served as the Minister of Internal Affairs in the Government of Montenegro from November 2016 until December 2020. Previously, he served as the Minister without Portfolio from 1992 to 1996. Nuhodžić is a member of the presidency of the Democratic Party of Socialists. DEMOS (acronym of Demokratski savez, ; cnr, Демократски савез, ДЕМОС) is a centrist to centre-right political party in Montenegro. Party founder and current leader is Miodrag Lekić, who is also serving as the party's single MP in the Parliament of Montenegro. History Party was founded in 2015 when Miodrag Lekić, leader of the opposition Democratic Front, split from the alliance due to disagreements with its constituent parties, and formed the new moderate right political subject. In September 2016, DEMOS decided to enter the Key Coalition with URA and SNP in order to participate at the forthcoming parliamentary election, winning four parliamentary seats. Goran Danilović (Serbian Cyrillic: Горан Даниловић, born in 1971 in Podgorica) is a Montenegrin politician, former member of Parliament of Montenegro and former Minister of Internal Affairs.
